You don't really need to change the shocks too. But if you want to do it properly and have a comfortable/safe ride then go for it. To install yourself you will need spring compressors and I found that I needed a rattle gun to get that top nut off the strut to get the spring free.

The whole problem might be because the car is lowered. When you put lower springs in the rear setup is moved a little and the exhaust rattles. Problem is solved with an adjustable panhard rod.

Had the same problem. Wasn't the battery at all. It was the plug going into the coil packs. Remove it, clean it out with contact cleaner, put it back in nice and tight. Worth a try.

Yep, It would be a bit of a mammoth task putting statesman lights onto commodore I'd imagine. Why anyone would do it I do not know. Alot easier to just buy some VS tail lights - normal, smoked, clear or whatever you are into and just swap them over mate.

Yeah, its worth a try. Im not sure as to how much a breather hose issue effects fuel consumption. Mine is broken and my car seems to drink a fair bit. Once I fix that I guess I'll see if efficiency improves at all. Or if you fix yours before I fix mine you can tell me lol
