Panhard Rod (Bolt and Sleeve on Chassis end) - Where to buy?

Today I've located one from Fulcrum/Superpro. Part No. SPF0030T (42mm long, 18 OD, 12.1 ID). Contact a Bursons store to order it in.

Panhard Rod (Bolt and Sleeve on Chassis end) - Where to buy?

I am trying to remove the Panhard rod however the High Tensile bolt will not budge out due to what seems like the sleeve that slips over the bolt inside the rubber bush is basically rusted in. I have tried breaking it out with a metal G clamp and plenty of freeze spray lubricant and no budging...

Petrol Fuel age concerns - Not driving my SS as much...

My first-hand experience is keep the tank above half at all times. I average about 3,000km/yr which means the car often may not get run for 3-4 weeks. Never had a problem. Other car (3.8 V6) has been parked on tyres for 6-8 months on 2 occasions (motor unstarted) and battery disconnected but...

Horn Chirp on Door Lock Setting VF2 Sedan

Since new the car's config setting for horn/lights have been the default. This means that when locking the doors the default setting is "Horn + Lights" - BTW alternatives are Horn, Lights or Off. When using Horn only or Horn+Lights, there has never been any chirps. However, to check that horn...

    vg ute

I had this fault and its a Relay thats inside the black lid (next to battery). The relay became sticky and I know they still sell them at the dealers. If you want I can look into my engine bay and tell you which one it is but basically its the one that is related to the ignition circuit.

    VF console lid removal

I am wondering if the leather armrest - which uses 8 screws could simply be unscrewed and fitted to the standard 6 screw factory (non-leather) bracket. It seems from the comparison pics below that 6 screws should be enough as they both armrests identically share 6 of the 8 screws in the same places.

    vn v6 auto crossmember bushings

I have a similar issue but with 5 speed manual rear mounting bushes. The appear to look identical as the picture here but I'm unable to locate a supply of them. I was hoping Mackay rubber made them.... anyone got them OEM quality one somewhere??

Has anyone tried moved a car using just the Starter Motor?

Well this afternoon I made it up the ramps on just a started motor (no plugs in the cylinders - fuel pump off). Firstly lined up the ramps to suit the front wheels, then hit the starter while in reverse (went back 2m to test it). Actually it went a bit too quick as there was a very little...

Has anyone tried moved a car using just the Starter Motor?

I need to fix a broken clutch in a manual V6 but the problem is I first need to get the car up a vehicle ramp (a 200mm height rise) to get under it. I am considering 'driving' it up (the front wheels only) by removing the spark plugs/fuel pump fuse (reduce the engine load on the starter) and...

V6 VN Series 2 - Cold starts fine, after 3 mins it runs rough and erratic, CEL flickers

Problem solved with a replacment ECU. The problems were isolated to the ECU after the diagnostic link ALDL pins A & B were shorted and tge engine run. Rather than flashing the CEL light at 2.5Hz during warm up, it flashed even while the motor was off. It was even attempting to switch the...

    Oil Switch?

Unlikely as the cooling fan cycles in and out and as I understand it the closed loop mode requires several criteria to be met. I think the coolant needs to be above 60 degs plus the O2 sensor has to producing voltage and for the IAC soeed needs to be above 5 or 8 km/hr.

Got a random series of Double Beep sounds while driving

It was the driver alert 'chime' setting under railway crossing and school zone while the screen alerts display setting were off by the way!! Ive now turned it off. It was somehow 'reset' to rhe factory 'default' after a battery disconnect some months ago. Grrr. Shame on holden assist 1800 who...

    Oil Switch?

The factory V6 workshop manual shows the fuel pump relay powered by the ECU but critically this relay coil is in parallel with the oil pressure switch which suggests that until the engine is running and sufficient oil pressure exists (probably about 1-2 seconds) should the relay be faulty etc...

    Oil Switch?

So lets assume a Oil Pressure Switch is faulty... Would that cause an erratic engine with flickering of the CEL and total loss of engine power. All this just 3 mins from a cold start?

V6 VN Series 2 - Cold starts fine, after 3 mins it runs rough and erratic, CEL flickers

OK Will try to swap it (there is only 1 on the right side bank) with an NGK or Delphi brand replacement. They are only about $50

V6 VN Series 2 - Cold starts fine, after 3 mins it runs rough and erratic, CEL flickers

But shouldn't a bad O2 sensor throw a DTC code? I want to believe its something that is heat related as it only happens once its warming up somewhat from cold (after 2-3 mins).

Got a random series of Double Beep sounds while driving

The car doesn't have lane depart warning nonsense and brake assist etc (why are so many bad drivers out there who, with all these safety aids running, still seem to find a way to crash). Could be the school zone alert come to think of it but I never seen a display on the 8" screen or the DIC...

V6 VN Series 2 - Cold starts fine, after 3 mins it runs rough and erratic, CEL flickers

Don't quite know what's going on but a couple weeks ago cold started engine and only drove about 2 mins up the street and at the lights the idle surged up to 1300 +/- 200 all by itself. However, being a manual I was able to drive it in slowly for another min until it went away by itself. For the...

Got a random series of Double Beep sounds while driving

Hi All, About a month ago was driving along and then out from nowhere there was this fast 'double beep' thru the audio. Funny thing is that nothing came up on the dash screen or driver console. This occurred about 5 times randomly over 30 mins of driving. The next day nothing unusual. Then...

No servicing will void my warranty?

Why pay all that rego for years to come - Seriously do you even need rego? Just trailer it to where you need work done. Although I like low Kms theory, mine is only at 4,000km and is mid-2016 built.

Parking Assistance Not Available - Sensors all work normally - VF2 SS

It seems to suggest a possible software bug somewhere in the BCM settings. I would first try to resolve it by disconnecting the Neg post on the battery for about 5 mins and refit and then check to see if problem has resolved upon the battery being reconnected and the computers 'Resetting'

    LS3 Idle speed

My VF2 LS3 on cold start will sit at 660rpm for the first 1-2 mins and as it warms up (in about 3 mins of driving) will drop down [gradually] to 540rpm. It is my recommendation to use a scanner capable of displaying live data and check for codes like coolant temp sensor failure and intake air...

What type is the standard battery in the VF Commodore... AGM or Calcium?

I've had a bunch of issues related to battery failure. The weak starting (particularly immediately after the car was run for sometime) was immediately resolved upon the vehicle battery replaced. Do not use any memory savers - the car will only lose the clock upon new battery. Radio and other...

Parking Assistance Not Available - Sensors all work normally - VF2 SS

UPDATE>> Issue was immediately resolved upon the vehicle battery disconnected and reconnected a week later. How long can a VF be stored for without battery starting problems?

Look up 'Transport Mode' and this is the best. Takes the car into hibinated sleep for min battery drain. The process is somthing like this... with engine running, apply hazzard lights and the press the stop/start button for approx 10-15 seconds until transport mode comes up on the dash display...

Can anyone identify this thing fitted in the Boot?

It looks very likely to be a lateral acceleration sensor (or similar) for the ESP as its basically directly above the rear axle/diff. If its not that, which seems unusual that its not in a fully moulded plastic case perhaps its related to the fuel tank or ABS monitoring?

VF2 SS owners - have you had any major mechanical or electrical faults since new?

Tried that trick also by holding down (thats more for perpendicular Parking Assistant). See the picture of the Red battery paint where the marks did not align so obviously someone has pulled off the battery at sometime while at the dealership (probably to stop it draining battery power). The...

Removal of Battery From the rear Left Quater Panel

Battery is a bit tricky to remove (not a very quick and practical design for good maintainability): 1) Remove the battery door by turning the knob anticlockwise to 9'oclock. 2) Remove the two Push in plugs holding the left side vertical boot carpet panel covering the battery area. 3) Remove...

Battery was down 40% the CCA rating within in the first 3 months! Battery was discovered leaking from the cap (see picture).
