    VE HVAC actuator replacement.

I've got another curly one with the dreaded HVAC actuators... How critical is doing the "relearn" with the doors open? My issue seemed to be a common one where everything works as it should except the Driver's side blowing only Cold air. Performed the "Demister" test and found the Drivers lower...

Help please! VE Calais V - parking sensors not working

I hit a couple of sparrows a while ago and one popped the front passenger's sensor back on mine, and the whole system went nuts, then stopped working. I got to mine by removing the inner wheel well splash guard and snapped it back into place. After about 1/2 a day, the system reset itself and...

    Sportwagon taking on water.....

I think I've now found it. Over the Christmas break I pulled the plastic trim at the end of the roof lining and had a look where the two rubber tubes runs from the tailgate into the roof and saw the R/H one nice and clean, whereas the L/H one showed traces of dirty water on the under side. Once...

Kingys Calais back to sleeper spec

Nice car Kingy, love the sleeper look. Have you checked the balancer? The throwing of the A/C belt is a common issue, and numerous people have discovered their harmonic balancer has unacceptable run out. As a mechanic by trade, I'm still yet to be convinced that having an extra pulley is going...

Expressions of interest in producing a range of 1:25 scale VE model kits.

Firstly, a model Wagon of ANY Commodore would be just about a first on the Australian market. I too would jump on a VE Sportwagon model if one were to become available. But sadly, the Sportwagon is only available here, whereas the Sedan an Ute are both sold as Vauxhalls in the UK, and we all...

    VE headrest DVD

The rear seat entertainment is the overhead DVD player in the SSV & Calais V, that also a factory option in other models. The wiring from the fuse box for this will go into the roof. You could tap into the wire going to the 12V plug in the centre console...

    Sportwagon taking on water.....

Seems that this is not an isolated case. I've had mine since June, and when it rains, I get a water mark on the roof trim, and it drips onto the cargo blind. I initially thought it was the seam under the black roof trim (where the roof racks go) as I found a gap in the sealer. But I filled this...

Can anyone tell me why my Air Con belt keeps throwing itself?

OK, just bought the Powerbond OEM replacement balancer from Mace Engineering following some advice from Steve there. Find it a little odd they don't stock the ARP bolt to fit it... had to get that from GM Motorsport. Now just waiting for the postie... :D Then we'll see if it's just the balancer...

Steve, Thanks for your response. You've helped me make my decision easier. Cheers, Peter (Yonnee).

Also, do you guys sell the ARP bolt to suit?

    V8 Performance Parts

Hi guys. My lack of A/C on my VE V8 last week lead me to discover a whole can of worms regarding genuine Holden twin pulley conversion brackets that are now obsolete, as well as faulty harmonic balancers. Firstly, I wondered how a second idler pulley could cause a belt to stay in place where a...

Can anyone tell me why my Air Con belt keeps throwing itself?

Got it home tonight, and now the friggin' bonnet struts won't hold the bonnet up !! :( Found a short length of timber to prop it up. The A/C belt had at least popped off rearward, tucking itself behind the tensioner and between the balancer and front timing cover. Extracted the belt and found...

Can anyone tell me why my Air Con belt keeps throwing itself?

I've been driving around for the past week or so with no A/C, and this morning pulled in to my A/C bloke down the road to check the gas, only to find the A/C belt off. So a bit of searching found a number of threads on a few forums regarding this "common" problem and its subsequent solution...

What to look for when buying diff

Just turning the input shaft (pinion) will turn the whole crown wheel, which will in turn spin the whole diff centre and spin both axle flanges in the same direction, irrespective of whether it has an LSD or not. It's when you turn one of the axle flanges that an LSD centre will spin the...

Fixed !! 6 weeks down the track, and the new door lock actuator hasn't missed a beat.

    Ve doors not locking

I've had my '09 Calais Sportwagon for nearly 2 months, and I found when I got it that the same rear driver's door was not locking (my 10 year old daughter found this out by trying to get into the car that I'd locked, and the rear door opened and set the alarm off, which scared the pooh out of...

    VE Sportwagon Subwoofer...??

I've been seeing many references in media releases and other references talking about a subwoofer/s in the VE range, including the Sportwagon..?? But no amount of searching I've done so far can confirm whether or not the Sportwagon actually has one/them fitted. If so, where is it located? If...

    ve exhaust

The design of a projector lamp allows a much more focussed beam to shine from the lamp, ie; the light shines where it should, rather than get scattered as it leaves the lamp. The cars behind you that don't have projectors lights seem brighter because they're partly shining into your rear vision...

VE SSV with a Central Locking Glitch

Off to the dealer this morning, and it played up again this morning as I left home, but not once I got to the dealer. However, they did replace the actuator, so we'll see how it goes.

VE SSV with a Central Locking Glitch

I know this an old thread, but I have had my MY09 VE Calais V Wagon for just over a week, and I'm having similar issues with my rear drivers door, where it's intermittently not unlocking, and one time didn't lock that door. There seems to be quite a few search results with people having the same...

    Out of date information...

Just thought I'd point out that the Model info on the Articles page, on the front home page is a little out of date... Still shows VZ as being the current model..??!! :rofl2:

    VE towbar rating capacity

Braked trailer: 1600Kg Manual 2100Kg Auto (But this all depends on the trailer too. A trailer can only be rated over 2000Kg if it has brakes on all wheels, and a breakaway system) Unbraked trailer: 750Kg
