Pranks - have you done any to work mates?

A place I used to work at a few years ago - the sales manager was a complete goose and was prime material for practical jokes. I used to sit right outside his office. Got him a few times..... 1. Sticky taped his ruler to his desk (can't see the sticky tape). Hilarious watching him trying to...

Is It Just Me Or Do ALL Taxi Drivers Speed?

I've only ever seen them speed, until tonight when coming home from work. He was dawdling along at about 45-50kph (60 zone). Cripes he was cheesing me off. Didn't help that he kept veering onto the wrong side of the road too. At first I thought he might be driving a drunk home and so wasn't...

pine for something you had as a kid?

I probably would have had a giggle to but if my husband did that I'd think it kind of sweet too. Actually I'm trying to source a remote control car for my husband that he had as a kid that he misses a lot - I think it's called a Grasshopper. My hubby is RC mad!! His latest passion is his...

Car Dies at high revs coughs bad fuel?

Are the injectors clean? Clean fuel filter? Sounds like there "could" be a blockage/s somewhere along the line.

pine for something you had as a kid?

You could build stuff now on the pretence of getting some practice in :). I miss some of my matchbox cars. I had these ones where the front and side doors would get "damaged" when you crashed into things - can't remember what they were called now. This is back in the 80s. I also miss my...

pine for something you had as a kid?

Yep. My husband plans to fix it up, re-chrome it and give it to my son. He's only 6 so not quite big enough for it yet.

pine for something you had as a kid?

We've got one of those....it's collecting cobwebs out in the shed. It needs a fair bit of love though - my husband found it out on the nature strip during a council collection. Can't think of anything that I pine for though.....have to have a think about it.

Have we crossed the 5 litre vs V6 threshold

Good question - I know I wouldn't bother. Not a fan of the VN/VP myself. But I do and have seen it done. Meh, whatever floats their boat I guess.

    Question for 308 w/Carby owners

As far as my understanding goes (which is rather limited) any engine that was made to run on leaded fuel needs to have the valve seat changed to suit unleaded or use the leaded fuel supplement that you add to your tank when you fill up. I just wanted to know which was "better" in respect to...

Have we crossed the 5 litre vs V6 threshold

Oh shush you guys, that's mean :p Do you think though that a lot of the "V8s" that we're seeing these days though are V6s that have been converted (and possibly badged as an SS etc) and not necessarily original V8's?. I remember when I bought my VL, a genuine V8 was HARD to find, and they...

    6"speakers

This was my understanding too. From what I could tell the door just isn't deep enough for the 6" and I "think" the window when wound down would get in the way as well. I wanted to put some in my doors but couldn't bear to cut up the trims and I don't like the pods on VL's. So to compensate...

    Question for 308 w/Carby owners

Do you run your 308s with unleaded plus the leaded fuel supplement or have you upgraded the motor so you can run straight unleaded (I'm not 100% sure what you change - is the valves?) For whichever way you do run it - why did you choose that way and does it work well for you. Just...

    Your suggestions?

I was hoping to get people's opinions on what brands of oil, filters and plugs people recommend for a 308 black motor (stock). I've never owned one before and I know which brands I like for my VL 3L (GTX2 for oil, Ryco for filters and NGK for plugs) but would like other opinions on what's...

    Opinions Please

You could always try fighting it in court too. You "could" end up having an understanding magistrate who might be more willing to listen to the circumstances that led you to doing that U-turn, and why you need to keep your licence. I can't remember, does NSW still have restricted licences -...

    The Missus & The Car.

    Right blinker needs sedatives

I've got exactly the same problem with my VL, but it's the right rear blinker. Globe replaced countless times, flasher unit replaced, wiring and earth checked (at home - not professionally). Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. I hate it cause I'm just waiting for someone to run up...

Child booster seat in VZ Ute?

The ruling from the RTA states that if there is a passenger side airbag then no child under the age of 12 can ride in the front seat. If there's no airbag, then legally, it's fine. On the odd occasion my son (5yo) goes in my husband's work van (front seats only).

308 Backfiring through Carby something shocking,Ideas?

Hmm...I was wondering too what brand they were. I've been thinking of putting some in my black motor, but it would help to know what to avoid and/or what was being done with the car before that happened. Personally, I've never seen one snap like that for no reason.

    Will these extractors suit?

Thanks - they're a little more than I would like to pay. I had my husband have a look over them before bidding and he thought they were pretty crappola - They've been welded and welded and welded over and over again - and pretty badly too. So I didn't bother bidding. But at least I know...

    Exhaust question

A question for those who might know.... What with the lack of leaded petrol these days and being forced to use unleaded, are you also legally required to put a catalytic converter on your car? Was wondering if it's an extra expense I need to consider before taking my VK in to have...

    Will these extractors suit?

Dumb question I know but need to ask. I'm looking at a set of extractors on ebay - it says in the description my 308 is totally stock - will these be too big? Should I look at smaller primaries?

    vl or vs

Kickdown switch or could just do with a good service on the transmission. But if the guy was being shifty then I'd think it's something more serious. IMO $3.5 is exxy for a VL these days - unless in excellent condition, and $3.5k is too cheap for a VS. I'm biased, cause I do love a good...
