I did a manual so I don't know about the auto shifter. I think I added a VL fuel line and tank. I don't have a wiring diagram but an auto elec will do the job pretty easy and cheaply these days. Not sure about the cable. Best thing I did was to ditch the power steering from the VH and use the VN...

    Holden Vk........jap powered?

Compact V6? Maybe straight 6. VB to VL are practically the same. The only real difference was the different crossmember to fit the Nissan 6 in. The VL fits the V8 in allright and the EFI Holden 8 also fits in these models with ease as well. The Chev 5.7 should drop in with a change of mounts...

    manual gearbox?

It will with a kit. I have mine behind an EFI V8 in a VH and it works a treat. The kit is made up for a cable set-up so it is easy to slot in. If you wanted to go to the trouble, a boosted fluid cluch would be the way to go, and take some of the heaviness out of the pedal.

Try a supra 5 speed. They are a nicer shifting box and super strong too. Dellow sell kits for them.

Not sure then. It may be the way the water is running through the heater core.

    thermal fans

Assuming that you have no problems and you want to replace your standard clutch fan with a thermo fan set-up, the best way to do it is to: Turn the thermo-switch to the high position. Get the car up to running temperature, then turn the knob until the fan kicks in and then turn it back a...

    car shudder

Look for black smoke as signs of over-rich fuel. Run you finger over the tailgate above the exhaust and see if there is a black film existing. Do a diagnostics on the computer to see if any errors pop up on the sensors. In a lot of cases if one of the sensors is reading an error the car wil go...

    blown head

It does sound like a blown head gasket. Cost? Depends on how much you want to do yourself. Buying a gasket souldn't be too much and changing it yourself will just take time - just make sure you know what you are doing with the timing belt. If you get a workshop to do it then you will probably...

    Unwanted Water Feature

Maybe it might have something to do with the heater core element. This is the only water that actually enters the cabin and it sits behind the dash. Mine had a small hole in it once and I would get the slowest of leaks inside the car - but I usually smelt it(radiator fluid) before I could feel...

    huge challenge ahead....

Boy you've got a tough time ahead. An easier way would be to marry up a WRX engine instead as I would imagine being the same config (flat four) that it would work a lot easier. Having said that anything is possible! Get out the measuring tape. If it is a bit tight for comfort, try the old...

    Supercharged V6 info

The exhaust is fitting is the same but the sizing that you want will be different. With a N/A V6 you don't want to put too huge an exhaust so you loose back-pressure and therefore mid-range power. It is totally different on a S/C 6 though. You actually want to provide as little restriction as...

    Injecting old V8>> conversion

Yes you are allowed but you may have to prove something with the emmissions - maybe some testing? Why wouldn't you go EFI V8 anyway? You could save yourself some cash with the carby conversion and just throw it at the EFI 6 with maybe a turbo or even easier, a supercharger. With the effort it...

    Best *looking* Commodore model?

One reason I have stuck with the VH is because I think they have a classic shape. They are definitely not the smoothest or sleekest but I think they have style and will outlast a lot of the VB, VC and VK's. Also - They last Commodore with chrome bumpers!

    VT Clarion Replacements

I just fitted those exact same Clarions to the other car and they work great. I run a 50w Pioneer deck and it does a pretty good job. They would perform even better if powered by an amp but the deck is just fine for now.

    Strut Brace

Strut braces in most cases are just for show. Unless you have a huge amount of power under the bonnet then you won't need one. It basically provides some more stability for the chassis. Spend the money on a good sway bar instead. A strut brace is something that you can fit yourself. $199 also...

    Injecting old V8>> conversion

Pre VT would be easier. Finding a cheap and reliable GenIII may be a task as well. They have the potential for more power but suffered oil burning problems - a result of being assembled in Mexico. How much power are you looking for?

    Holden Vk........jap powered?

If you want to keep the cost down then just drop in an RB25DET. This will have heaps of torque for your VK to get off and moving. Beware that if you want 300kW from the engine that although possible, it may be expensive. If you are looking at that sort of power then spend the extra up front and...

No. The green dot on the right hand side. Some people have 2 and when you hover over it, it gives you a title - "Executive" etc... How do you give someone rep points or comment? Where do you leave it?

    g/box conversion info

If you are going to the trouble of converting to manual, then you might as well go all the way for not much more and fit a Supra 5 speed. Then you can use the kit that Dellow automotive supply for the car.

Don't know whether this is the place to ask or not, but I was reluctant to start a new thread. What do the little green dots on everyones title mean? Beenleigh is a great place. Out of the hussle and bussle of the Gold Coast but still really close to it. Great access to the hinterland and not to close to Brissie which I find a pain in the butt to drive around. I love QLD. Probably move there one day.

It's because VS on went to electronic soleniods that were controlled by the computer. VR down were all manual operated and therefore not able to be computer controlled.

How Many People Here Have Standard LSD V6 Diffs

I have a VL V8 Borg Warner 3.08 in mine and have had no worries at all behind my 195kW 5.0. They are a good diff but need the LSD tightened up occassionally depending on how hard you use it.

    Holden Vk........jap powered?

Pro and cons? Just the usual. The RB25DET will have less torque at lower revs, but that is more a concern with a heavier vehicle, not a 1300kg Commodore. It will also have a higher rev limit being an undersquare engine although you need to consider the actual engine components and whether they...

    F1 Wtf?

In one of the last turns in the track, the force on the left rear tyre at the high speed was hugh. Michelin actually brought the wrong set of tyres to the race. The reason for that was that they did not count on the resurfaced track (which was done earlier in the year) would be so rough. The...

    Holden Vk........jap powered?

With the GTR head and VL bottom end and the right rest of it you could be looking at some huge power! 400kW easy. But make sure you do it right! You will be able to hook up the RB25DET gearbox for strength. Diff choice is up to where you want to race.

    6 speaker system.

Don't ruin the trim in your back doors. Don't run the risk of bumping the windows off the wire track either. Save the effort for a decent custom rear shelf and some decent splits up front. Run the fronts off the deck and the rears off an amp depending on how large the rears are.
