as said they are not the best, when I bought my car it had one on it....Its 4 years old now and has big holes of rust on it. so its time for a new one... I would say look for a better one, coz there is lots for sale. as for size ! 3inch is too big...2 1/2 is the right size... good luck...

well said m8 , as said 55watt's from the radio is something like 10 to 12watt rms, so as said above it's true a amp will make it sound a lot better

without a amp there is no point. it's not going to sound much better.
