    VY SV8 Tonner

I've just realised how rare these tonners are.... Only 570 V8 tonners were produced...(including all VY VYII and VZ ones) hell, and they are selling for 14-18K on carsales. Such a rare car for such a small price

    BigDaddyCool VZ Executive - Brisbane

In regards to the previous half-dozen comments, anyone can be a keyboard warrior on an internet forum. but apart from all that Well done for finally putting up a My Ride thread. The rims are a good choice for this colour car, I had this type on my old VY, albeit 17's how is the sound affected...

    Holden Sales Figures....need some help!

Hi. I've been searching on the net for detailed sales figures of the Holden One-Tonner. I'm not sure whether these figures would actually exist anywhere...but what im really after is how many one tonners were sold, but with the figures broken down into categories such as VYII/VZ...V6/V8 as...

VZ SSZ - Black & Blown

also i dont want to sound rude, but could you PM me an approximate figure of what these upgrades cost...excluding car purchase + blower...dont think that many rwkw would be safe on a one tonner =) Thanks

VZ SSZ - Black & Blown

Hah i cant believe i actually found this car!! Just wanna say 3 things, firstly, i'm extremely happy i've found you on here so...

vz sv6 sounds like tractor, vibrates in idle..

i did have this after my first service on my ute. the mechanic didnt properly re-attach the spark plug leads. it'd idle like it had a cam for a bit, then the revs would increase as if the aircon had been switched on. then it would go back to a lumpy idle. but the stalling at the lights is...

    Alloytec rev limit

im sure some people know this saying..."OVER 9000?!?!?!" but anyway. revving the engine to anything over 6500 would surely be quite damaging to the engine? and revving to 9000...can the fuel mixture be fully burned in the combustion stroke, there'd have to be a point where efficiency...

VY not backing off between gear change

i have this problem in my VZ V6 ute, 6 speed manual. But only when the motor is cold. once the temp is halfway on the guage, the revs drop instantaneously

    Alloytec Meet Up/Cruise

Hell. im at 138rwkw at the moment. saying i wasnt paying off a block of land i'd get a tune (+15rwkw) then a CPR6 (which you didnt even have in early NA stages, gives me another 15rwkw)...lol, im not even in the ball park. *hangs head in shame* also i will add to the discussion regarding...

    My VZ Ute

First gear and reverse can be a bit clunky...although the best thing about it is, if u feel the need for a sudden burst of acceleration, theres always a gear thats just right to slot into. But yeh, its great on fuel, and it also forces you back in your seat when planting it in 1st or 2nd =)...

    power chip vs. dyno tune

i was looking at this tune offer a while ago, but didnt like the statement "Although it is highly unlikely that this tune should cause any damage to your vehicle we take no responsibility for any damage caused as the result of its use". usually tuners modify the tune and still remain in safe...

    Handbrake Issue

pull the large circular flap back under the seat, and theres a nut which you can tighten to shorten up the handbrake line. i think the nut is a 9mm one. put your car on a flat piece of land, lower the handbrake lever and pull the flap up, you'll probably see the handbrake cable is loose. You'll...

    v8 killer in a sv6

Yeh the pro-flow turbo set up would be the way to go. the black ute they use has an auto trans that has been beefed up. Looking at between $15-$18k after turbo setup, new ECU, and driveline upgrade. Lots of $$. put a deposit on a house mate, lol much better than spending huge money on cars...

    power chip vs. dyno tune

i do find it funny that on the powerchip website, the customer testamonials on the VZ alloytec brochure...none of them are from people who own vz commodores...one's from a bloke who owns an astra, and another is from a bloke who owns a VX SC-V6...

    Diff Gears

They'd be strip weapons Impulsive; the people who own them would not be driving them on the street. After the 12K cost of this CAPA kit, and the costs of upgraded trans, internals, exhaust etc...the age old argument (which i firmly believe in now...yes i've been converted...) is why spend all...

VZ SV6 Manual Clunk Occasionally On Take Off

hmm, my ute never comes up with a 'low traction' alert...mines a 2004 VZ 6 speed manual. or was this only a feature in the SV6's? And yes, i get the same problem with the clunky gearbox/diff. Usually only in first and reverse...i can never seem to get the perfect start lol
  32. Corbs1234

    Diff Gears

Capa do offer a system, supercharged intercooled running at 14PSI, which they guarantee will deliver 440KW or 440rwhp from a 175 alloytec Although they do recommend upgraded internals for this kit...so there's another few G

Is it bad to down shift my auto VT?

i used to do the 'downshift' in my first car, a s1 VT, never had a problem. Although, something to add, i found that downshifting whilst going around a corner on a dirt road caused the back wheels to instantly lose traction (almost like ripping up the E brake) and it made for some awesome...
