Mate if your on a budget find a set of VY series II hsv headers and cats and a VX/VY hsv airbox alot cheaper then going aftermarket. This is what i have on my VX SS. Also i have a HSV catback aswell, to me gives a nice note and not loud or droney and cheap. Just chek on ebay or on the forums.

Dont waste your money at autobahn. Just drill a extra 90mm hole on the side [guard side] of your airbox. Ive had different cai's and not much difference to me.

look at the gearbox first. Forget about the growler and exhaust. Save ur $$ and Get an LS1 best thing i ever did.

Yes i reckon we can rule out the manifiold insulators as the cause. Its the gearbox and i think theres not much we can do about it just the way its designed/built tuned..

Ive fitted VZ monaro /VZ SSZ binnacle gauges to a VZ Calais V6 well an electrician did just needed to splice the wires in behind the dash somewhere.. hope that helps abit..

must the the 5speed auto gearbox. In my VZ calais this happens wen it was stock and tuned aswell. Its like the gearbox is partially locking up. Only happens in 2nd 3rd . 4th and 5th will be in overdrive so it locks up. It wasnt so noticable when it was on stock tune but once tuned was more...

should get round 500km from full to almost empty [city/local] and round 600km plus [freeway/highway driving] im getting around these figures in the vz calais alloytec190 and ye depends on ur right foot n traffic.

Like wat impulsive said pacemakers and hiflow cats with standard catbak i found to be the best sound epecially when the system get bit older will sound better!! also get a K&N panel airfilter. Wouldnt do anything else besides giving it regular oil changes and good spark plugs

QFM race/street pads are frekn awesome not dat noisy aswell. Get some braided brake lines and some good brake fluid like. This is my set up QFM race/street pad, front n rear braided lines, slotted rotors and ap racing 5.1 fluid. I have been to track with this combo n done probaly about 16 laps...

Although it does actually sound pretty nice with a set of pacemakers and hiflo ballistic cats which is wat i have right now on my calais (190 alloytec) sound pretty crisp with the standard catback.

Ive played around with my alloytec190, been there done that n really save your money n get a LS1 u will spend less n get alot more go but use more fuel obviously n they somewhat cheaps these days. Dont waste your money on injectors!! with cai just whack a k&n panel filter.

mate i wouldnt touch the exhaust not massive gains. Better off spending money on something else like upgrading brakes, hbd pedal set, tints etc.. or get a v8.

If you are goin with a new ECU will cost u bout 2k + its the ECU n the reprogramming thats expensive. To fit it is piss easy.. i got mine replaced recently cost me 1.2k not a brand new ecu but cars running.

All you need is the Calais/Berlina chrome bonnet strip, VZ calais front n rear lights also that bottom piece of plastic with the reflectors for the rear bumper (like the calais) a nice dark tint. Keep the engine stock not worth touching.

If its performance i say SV6 but the calais is such a classy car!! get the better headlights/tailights n chrome trims. Interior is heaps nicer too!! I wuld think the SV6 is slightly faster as its abit lighter?? correct me if im wrong. But wuldnt spend too much on it. Better to get a fast car in...

Mate dont be too worried. I got almost the same figure this is with headers hi flow cats and cai and plenum spacers wit 98 ultimate fuel. They are a hit n miss but still a good engine.

Hey mate i put Narva plus 50 in my foglights and they are frekn bright!!! much better then the ones i had b4 but this is in H3 but would think it would give same results in the other bulb types.

Hey yes i did it, did feel slight improvement nothing dramatic and more growl from the engine too. I did put my stock catback back on and loving the much more quiet ride... haha so have no more flat spots anyway....Cheers! Now saving for a boat.... soo no MORE SPENDING!!!

Cheers mate!! Tints will make it awesome!! The wattage definitely makes a different in brightness be heaps brighter as normal HID are 35W so extra 20W would make a diff, but i coould be wrong..
