Hi, just had an engine swap and now its hard to start. Cold usually starts well but when it warms up it takes quite a few cranks to start. Injectors, egr, fpr has been changed, along with plugs leads fuel filter as well. Any suggestions? Thanks.

probz easier to take it to HM GEM and get a rebuild or transplant then :bomb:

did a compression test today and results were: CYLINDER 1: 135psi CYLINDER 2: 175PSI CYLINDER 3: 175PSI CYLINDER 4: 175PSI CYLINDER 5: 165PSI CYLINDER 6: 170PSI seems that cylinder one is shagged :undead:...where to go from here? anything i can do to bring it back to life?

Inlet gasket was pretty screwed according to the "new" mechanic. Bolts were pretty loose as well, so heres hoping itsjust that and nothing else. Thanks for the advice

fair enough. just grabbed a brand new arm for drivers side off a vn cheap and it feels lighter than the original, seems to work faster too, probably cos its not slipping on the wiper pivot shaft cos they're worn

replaced motor a year ago, since then i did the inlet manifold gasket. i think i need to do valve stem seals cos it starting to blow a bit of white smoke on startup. but other than that, its pretty good if u treat em right :)

all good, it was those bearings on top. fitted new ones, thank god it wasnt the rack :P

just normal driving, i can only really feel it well when going slow over a bump, its not shuddering like brakes if thats what u mean :)

ok, but i dont have the extra switch for "foglamps", i just want to bridge a wire from the headlights somewhere so when i would normally turn on my headlights, my driving lights will turn on as well

trying to wire in some extra driving lamps so when i put the headlights on they will turn on as well- (not as a separate switch) just wondering if someone could tell me where i could place the positive wire from the driving lamps so i can connect it directly to a wire running from the headlights...

is the beep coming from the cabin or sounds more like the outside? check the globes if it is. you can buy beeper reverse globes so check there as well

93 vr constant stalling, fuel pump, injectors, oil and filter, O2 sensor, no vacuum leaks, IAC motor changed. What can it be? Sometimes only happens when just started and go to break and it downshifts and it feels like it is going to stall. Other times works absolutley fine.

wanting to change the seats in my wagon, but all i can find is sedan leather or velour seats. is it easy to put sedan seats in a wagon? and will vp or vn seats fit a vr or do they have different railings?

merry xmas. a mechanic will obviously help, but otherwise a second hand one will do the trick, just hard to find one with matching k's. i dont know if it would help. but try resetting the ECU and it might set it back.

yeh sat there waiting for other codes to come out. just code 12 up to ten times. i swapped the fuses around and it made a difference but i guess doing the coil pack would make it better anyway- havent done that yet. and the leads, havent changed leads since getting the car.

checked error codes. nothing there, just a big fat 12. so maybe changing the oil pressure switch may help?
