[Ecotec] Injector choice - VS versus VT VX injectors

When i fitted a cam to 34g a couple of seasons ago i stuck in a set of the VT 6hole injectors i had lying around. To test them i set up a fuel rail upside down hooked up to a momentary switch to trigger all injectors simultateously. Old style injectors just sent a shot at my shed roof, the later...

Question for those with the Police Pack

The wifes got a 07 Omega ex cop car. It has got the FE2 pack. I think RiCey is spot on re the dash but that might effect the blackout feature which i think should be on all of them. I use it frequently on the open road at night away from the town lights and it is amazing how the road ahead...

    Alloytec Parts Supply

Hi Guys, Been looking through threads on alloytecs as we have one in the family as of about a year now. Its an ex NZ Police '07 VE Omega with the LE0 engine (supposedly "chipped" (i laughed when told that as i know these are flash tuned) for the cops), came factory with FE2 suspension and the...

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Hell yes, picked up an MY08 ex cop car on Monday - i'm letting the missus think its hers haha. Shes a bit worried about fuel consumption after trading in her 06 Barina puddle jumper so the VE might be recieving some attention "just to make it more fuel efficient dear" best part i'm keen on...

    513rwkw V6

Man thats one hairy ride, big ups to all involved, to keep it irs and handle more grunt would a piggy back rear swaybar help keep the arse straight when boost hits? It won't really affect the spring rate but should keep the arse end flat and can be unbolted in minutes to drive it home. RESPECT

V6 series 1 and series 2 wiring quistion

You can delete the power steering and run a shorter belt routed around the outside of the tensioner, i ran like that for a couple of seasons in 34g with no issues. You'll need to run a return line to the tankfrom the rail if converting from a carb system and all hoses will need to be upgraded to...

    I wanna de-stroke a 3.8

Get the Colonel to have a good look inside the timing cover/oil galleries, the ones i've seen are full of casting dags and restrictions - just begging for some relief, might be worth looking at opening up the mains galleries up too if your swapping over cam bearings, and don't forget to upgrade...

    VN S1 Production Saloon

'Groomed' some tyres after dinner this evening just before going out for a couple of drinks, clamped off the rear brakes, got the garden hose and wet the shed floor and with my right heel firmly on the brake i tickled it up between 3500-4000rpm in 1st and smoked it up for about 10-15 secs...

    Three holleys

as i posted previously if its on an individual runner setup it WILL work - with work. motors way too small to get away with it on a common plenum though undercover HQ i like the way your thinking outside the square rather than following a overly well beaten path go for it mate.
  12. VNracer34G

    Three holleys

If you set them up as an IR setup they would probably work but it'd mean a custom manifold and linkages, on a plenum it'd be a stone - not enough vac. signal to the boosters to draw fuel through. I've seen it done on an old chevy stovebolt.

Should have some signage sorted by Saturday in time for racing (hopefully) and i scored some new tyres which should be all grooved up by then too - i have a love hate relationship with my grooving gun, its a hard, hot, smelly, long and physical job but the results are often well worth it, at least...

Had one hell of a week last week. Killed 24 cut off discs with the angle grinder, burnt a few holes in myself welding on my back and found a lot more damage than i was expecting once i had the old rear quarters cut off but i got it done just in time to head off to the track for the first race...

bad sulpher smell and weired engin light

yeah most likely the cat however we had a phase of cars coming through work a month or so ago where lots of cars had the smell and we put it down to slightly different blend of fuel coming through with the change of season - when we started asking punters where they got there gas all with the...

Its not the wire from your oil sender killing the fuel pump is it? - most of the looms i've seen are brittle as right at the plug there, thats why i bypassed the circuit in 34g might cool itself down and reduce the resistance by the time you curse it get out and wriggle stuff. As to your...

Last preseason practice yesterday. Scored a new tyre for the right rear last week, same size 205/70r15 but a BFG touring T/A, same circumference as the Firestone destination h/t i have been using but 20mm wider footprint so i had high hopes. The track was pretty chopped up and we got sent out...

Got held up on other jobs last weekend so i pulled off/out all the crap that had accumulated on/in 34G over the last six months hit the starter and drove it out to the carport where the girls gave me a hand washing it, i jacked it up and waterblasted the remains of last season off. Chucked it on...

You mean you've turned the strut tops to get camber castor right and you haven't used your eyecrometer toe guage yet???? Ya gotta be kiddin me man. Vr V6 rebuild after big end bearing failure

hahah been there. Chances are the bores will be as sweet (or not ) as they were before it spun a big end - however there is every chance that it has picked up on and scored the crank journal, also i'd be having a real hard look + accurately measure the bigend bore of the rod. Bottom line is...

    Red 308 into vh commodore?

If the engines been built the deck of the block may well have been machined and obliterated the engine number anyway, how often do emissions gear etc get checked over by anyone actually knowing what they're looking at? That $800 manifold+carb isn't any more emissions compliant than a red 308...

Should the sway bar linkages have movement?

Unlikely to be the wobble but worth doing anyway, just about every VN onwards Commodore front swaybar endlink i see till they went to jointed links is stuffed, OEM replacement rubber bushes outlast the polyuretahane aftermarket ones by a huge margin but having said that the nolathane 'z' link...

and i still really want to get my hands on headers. i've seen them on a couple of VP utes and on a VR SV6 that the owners would'nt part with, not too fussed on the y-pipe as exhaust is free from the first flange and if time allows i want to make myself a termination box for a new system.
