An SV6 is not fast but imo they are a great first car. Plenty of power for a new driver, safe and they look decent. Like most p platers with your mindset and with "friends" that are egging you on to get a fast car it will probably end up around a pole or written off before too long anyway.

If you want a really quick car a Holden SS Commodore is not the best choice tbh. I got a V8 for the sound and the decent torque at low revs. Its reasonably quick but nothing special really. Not to mention how fast you get used to whatever power you do have, at first mine felt really quick but...

Really? Even after my tune mine just launches if i plant the accelerator. Very slight wheelspin only.

The standard tune has a bunch of torque management which makes it hard, with a tune all that crap is removed and it will spin them easy.

Yeah i was going to give my auto transmission specialist a go at tuning the gearbox but they want $1000 just for the gearbox tune. They are a very reputable company but im not handing over 1k till i drive or at least go for a ride in a car that they have tuned.

Yes im well aware of that and i think your missing the point, when a brand new SSV gets around 210rwkw and my car with 80k on it got the same 210rwkw it shows that a well looked after car does not lose much power over time.

More then that i would say, if it has been well looked after it would have close to the full 190kw. I got my SSV with 80k on the clock and it was putting out 210kw ATW which is the same as a brand new car would get.

I really wouldn't worry about it, i had a brand new VF GTS rock up at my work a few weeks ago and it sounded like the motor was going to explode at any moment. The L77's are just a noisy motor. Mine gets quieter the harder i push it lol.

Between the piston slap and general noisy valve train my engine sounds like its going fall apart most the time. Still goes hard though :)

Im no expert but the MPH should increase as you increase engine power/torque, the actual et is highly effected by 60ft ect ect.

Its a very good price to get it done to at $3600. If i had an SV6 i would be first in line to get these cams installed.

Sounds bloody horn, like a real performance 6 cylinder should. The dyno graph shows some good increases in power/torque thoughout the rev range which is impressive. I would miss not having my 500nm of torque at 2000rpm though :p

Good results, people need to remember the 6 banger is a much more advanced engine then our dinosaur 6L V8's. You also have to remember that it might make 250rwkw but it wont have the torque down low like a 250rwkw V8 hence the peak power at close to 7800rpm.

The Xforce systems sound a little flat without extractors (not much of a pulse sound) but they sound really good once some extractors and high flow cats are fitted. Even without headers my SSV sounds decent with the 2.5" SS Xforce catback.

Yeah you only need a full rebuild if your bottom end is damaged. Truth is without pulling the motor apart its hard to tell exactly what might need replacing but most decent LS mechanics will have a good idea of the commons issues and what they cost to fix.

If the motor has infact actually spun a lobe that does NOT require a full rebuild. You should be able to get it fixed for closer to 3k. This is a common issue with the LS 6L motors.

Ive got the deep pan, had mine serviced and tuned but you will never totally get rid of the flaring and delay. Mine is much better then stock so i just put up with it.

Ive calculated my figures many times and they are almost always within .5L to the trip computer. :)
