Having just sold me VE SS auto I now appreciate how good a gearbox it is. Smooth and quick enough for most situations. Hardly ever used the sport mode. Never missed a beat (apart from the clunking out of Park if the car had moved when changing from Drive to Park - a well-documented problem).

I've never used polishers, infact I've never done any paint work other than use touch-up paint. Is it very hard to get right? Do I just buy the paint from Holden, wash panel, dry, apply paint (spray gun?), dry then buff with polisher?

Is doing this by hand going to work or is it better (and easier and quicker) to do it with an electric polisher and if so, will a $30 one from Supercheapauto do?

Well it sounds ridiculous if that is the reason. I hired a Cruze recently and the air vents go above horizontal so maybe it's a death trap!

Can anyone tell me why the air vents don't point any higher than horizontal? I've owned plenty of cars and hired a few too and never have I been in one where I couldn't point the air vents upwards to my head.

I find that outside smells come into the car with the recycle button lit too. I asked at the dealer and they said this was normal. If I wanted to exclude the outside air (don't we all?) then I could pay for a hepa filter to be installed. No thanks Hol$en.

Doesn't rotating them just delay the pain and mean that you end up having to pay out for 4 new tyres instead of 2?
