    TPMS VE2

ok, you can't actually turn off the TPMS. You need to switch the warnings off instead. On my series 1 Caprice (which may be subtly different to a series 2), you go to "Customise Options", then select "Trip Computer". Scroll down and you will see two options listed; "Tyre pressure monitor" and...

    TPMS VE2

Yes, it can be done and I have done it on my series 1 Caprice. Just can't remember how I did it atm... I'll have a look around tonight and see if I can remember what I did.

    Help

Have you tried turning it on and off a few times? That fixes the security lockout error on my WM when I get it (usually after I've pulled the fuses)

VE / VF cabin air filter (a must do)

Does anyone know of a carbon filter that fits neatly and with no gaps around it? I've tried Repco and Sakura. They all fit snugly, but there is always a small gap along one of the sides where air can go straight thru (so I still get external odors etc). Each one is different, even with the...

09 WM CAPRICE Rear Footwell vents not blowing air at all

Let's just say that my kids worked out very early on that if they played up back there. I couldn't reach them! But yes, it's a very comfy ride in the back.

Only the top of the console, so it's more feet and knees... There's no roof outlets.

09 WM CAPRICE Rear Footwell vents not blowing air at all

Just took the WM to the workshop. Took the passenger side covers off of the console and found the actuator for the rear feet, see picture. Did a HVAC reset and noticed that all actuators were moving ok. So I tested where the air came out based on face, feet or both. Turns out that the rear...

09 WM CAPRICE Rear Footwell vents not blowing air at all

Just took my WM for a drive and noticed that I don't have any air coming out of the rear foot vents. I've done some searching and found many diagrams of VE's with 4 actuators, but none that show the additional ones for a WM with Tri Zone. Would anyone have such a diagram?

    Estimated fwkw about right

My WM with an LS3 in it recorded 265 rwkw which came out to around 340 fwkw. It's the torque that matters. Mine went just over 600nm.

WM Rear no. plate chrome attachment

That's a Series II WM Caprice V? If so, the chrome surround won't fit without some modification as they are for a series I Statesman or series II Caprice (none V). To remove teh bumper, have a look at VE Bumper Removal There's like three clips and two screws that hold it on.. You don;t need...

    4l60e return line

Too much mucking around (and risk) for my liking. I take mine to my gearbox expert; $250 for the service, flush and check, $10 or so for the coffee and bacon and egg roll while I wait.... The only thing I have to clean is the BBQ sauce off of my fingers from the roll... :-)

    After market headlight issue

H7 can be used for either high or low beam (my VW uses H7 in high and low). Just depends on the light casing that the bulb goes into.

[General] WM Caprice 2006-13 Rear seat headrest screen replacement

The screens are security coded to the head unit. It's a simple process for someone with a Tech II to code them together. You just have to find someone who knows what they are doing. That's what I've done every time I've replaced them (twice to date). Cost me less than $100. Looks like the...

    DVD problem in a Caprice

Just went and had a play with the DVD system in my car... The screen surrounds are bloody difficult to get off, I broke mine and bought two new ones off of Homart for a reasonable price (around $40 each I think). The old ones fitted back on fine and I haven't actually replaced them yet... fyi...

    DVD problem in a Caprice

And when you do get the new sreen in, you need to get it linked to the audio system otherwise it will sit there with a security error on it.

    DVD problem in a Caprice

You can take the screen out without having to remove the headrest. Pull the plastic surround off (it's a bast**d) to get off and then you can unscrew screen. (This is from memory and I haven't removed a screen for quite a while). I replaced both my screens a few years ago and got the local...

Dash saying door is open but it’s closed

Someone just posted that they changed their boot lock and actuator and now the door open light is coming on. https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/boot-close-sensor.298174/ Wonder if it's related at all?

Dash saying door is open but it’s closed

A very long shot.... Do the overseas versions of the Commodore check if the boot and or fuel cap are open? I had an old NL Fairlane and it would show if these were open too. Just a thought.

Has anyone noticed this for VE

If you don't have factory sensors, you have two buttons, if you have factory sensors, you have three. It's not model dependent. There is fine print in the manual that says "if fitted" (ie, if your car has parking sensors fitted from the factory.) If you want to add factory sensors and have...

    VE Commodore light switch issue

Glad you found it helpful (after I realised I was barking up the wrong tree initially). My daughter had the same issue of reversed wires when she bought a brand new D-Max that came with the Redarc installed by the dealer (ie outsourced). Re 12 pin plugs, I've been installing and using them for...

    VE Commodore light switch issue

Just re read your first post and realised that I was talking about the wiring before it was "reversed". Regardless, get all the pins re checked to make sure that they have run them correctly. If you are testing the output of the Redarc via pin 5, make sure it is actually putting out a voltage...

    VE Commodore light switch issue

Why did you add the extra 12 pin plug and leave the 7? Normally you would replace the 7 pin with the 12. Any 7 pin flat trailer plug will plug into the 12 pin. If you need the functionality of the reversing sensors, there are 12 pin plugs available with the magnet in them to make sure it will...

WM Caprice, flat battery, manual key doesn't work.

ok, I just did some testing on my car (07 Caprice with bi xenons). I opened the drivers window and opened and closed the door. I then turned the headlights on. They didn't turn off after 20 minutes. I then opened and closed the door (to activate the door switch) and left the car for 15...

WM Caprice, flat battery, manual key doesn't work.

You have a problem with your lighting system. Lights should turn themselves off after a few minutes after turning the car off.

    Struts

Get front sway bar D bushes and linkages checked. I had the same issue an it ended up being the linkages. They've been updated multiple times by Holden. The later ones seem to work well.

Does the wm front guards and indicators fit onto a ve sv6

You'd also need the front bumper. The WM "Grill" is a part of the bonnet, where the VE has it as part of the bumper. As mentioned previously, every panel on a WM other than the front doors is different.

Need Help with WM2 Caprice Headlights

Did you replace them with OEM Xenons? I've had trouble with after market ones not starting up as they didn't get along with the ballasts. Otherwise, as per Imoengnr, my bet is the ballasts themselves.

    Do Commodores have TPMS?

My WM Caprice has TPMS, and it's crap... It throws errors constantly (been checked and no one can find any issues with any components and I replaced all four sensors). I just turned off the warning noises in the settings option. No more noises, but it will still show up an error if there's a...

VE Calais l98 - What to look out for?

My 07 WM Caprice had an L98 (all VE autos were L98 until the displacement on demand came out in the L76) in it. Ended up with a cracked lifter at 245k. It's unfortunately common. Gearbox also had the bad 2-3 change. I replaced the motor with an LS3 and will replace the gearbox next year...

Replacing globes in a WM Caprice

If the "OEM equivalents" caused issues, I'd be checking your ballasts. It's common for aftermarket bulbs to have issues with the ballasts. I used a set of aftermarket bulbs that were supposed to be the ducks knuts only to have them fail almost instantly (they would arch up and then go of)...

Replacing globes in a WM Caprice

I'm not really sure what you are referring to. The bulbs are either xenon or not. The high and low beam function is done by a metal flap in the headlight, not the bulb, ie the bulb has no low and high beam capability. Looks like the dealer didn't use OEM ones.

    Front seat upholstery removal.

Seat backs clip in at the base, just pull the base outwards to release clips then downwards to separate from seat. Some force is needed to get the clip out. It’s a fir-tree push in type. Can be re-used, but better to get a new one. Head rests should have a hole in the section where the height...
