    Return from pannel shop

Haven't had any negative comments about the front until now... Other than the, Oh, it's too low. Went through the looking at wheel phase. Decided to stick with the 18's for several reasons. I'm not sure if 19's or 20's would really improve the cornering much. It goes around the corners very...

Wheel size on vy ute?? how big can i go????

Mines on 18-8" with 235/40 Can't legally go any lower. Got a set of custom tempered springs being made as we speak. There's about 30mm clearance on the inside of the tyre. The outside will be very close, but this is what I want. Car will be out of the panel shop in a couple of weeks hopefully...

How hard is it to install springs?

I am also looking to replace the springs... What exactly is hard about it? If you have the right tools, is it then easy? I'll be doing this in a fully kitted workshop with hoists etc.

how to change spring in a vy s pac

Just keep your face face away from compressed springs? A little bit of common sense should do the trick? I havn't done it... What is actually hard about it?

    My 03 VY s2

No. Custom made springs. Made to order. Not cut. Is to dear though. They were going to charge me $800 I've decided to go with Chamberlain Suspension here in Christchurch. They do nothing but suspension. They do allot of race cars. I've got them coming out to where my ute is at my friends panel...

    My 03 VY s2

Anyone know of or had any experience with short GT Gas shocks. Monroe I assume. Also Cobra springs. The guy at Mag and Turbo is trying to sell me a custom set of Cobra springs and a couple of GT gas shocks ($250nz for the shocks) for the rears. Doesn't think the fronts will need new shocks...

Are shorter stops needed due to reduced travel? What about the shocks. Standard shocks still ok?
  21. L

    My 03 VY s2

So I just need a spring compressor to do both fronts and rears? So if I wanted to go lower I guess the idea would be to put the existing rear springs on the front and get the next lower set and fit to the rear? How much lower is the next lower step? and how much lower can you go with these...

    19 x 8.5s on a vy

Yeah, I know there will be very little roll. I think it's the look he's going for though. less traction than than a wider wheel obviously. Maybe he can only fit a 215 on the 20's?
  27. L

    19 x 8.5s on a vy

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it looks good. It also works in your favor for handling. less tire roll.

LowVZ What size tyres you got on the ute? I've got a VY and looking at going from 18" to 20" Currently got 235/40-18. Your tires look pretty close to the guards.

Hmm. So every time I take my seats out (unplug the seat air bag wires) I have to pay holden dealer to clear the code. Sounds costly. Last time they plugged the tech2 in it coast me $70 ($70 plug in fee, before they even do anything else). Found this on another forum... What are clock...

    Dylan's VY 'S' UTE

What exactly do you want the h/u to do that the factory blaupunkt won't do? They are a good h/u. Does your mate know what he is doing? Allot of car audio guys are butchers (beware). Tail gates look good with no badges. Nice and clean. It goes with the whole holden design IMO. Nice clean...

    Dylan's VY 'S' UTE

Or you could just use the standard h/u and put one of phreddys PCB's in it. That's what I'm doing to mine. No real need to replace the h/u then. The factory h/s are pretty good. Plus if you replace, you loose your steering wheel controls. Very nice for a first car though. I had to wait 20 yrs...
