    I used the same twin thermo fan set up. I mounted them the same way as pictured. Even the radiator looks the same as mine. I find them very effective.

    I did my Calais in all leather and velour to match as close to original. Including roof lining, new door cards, carpet, gear shift boot and handbrake boot was about $4.5K.

    I am sure that the slx and sle bonnets are the same. They have little top hats welded on to retain the chrome strips. The sl models and the vk do not have these.

    The gearbox and engine will need to be at quite a steep angle to get them out. Remove the dizzy and either drain the gearbox oil or plug the out put shaft. Remove the bonnet. Raise the front of the vehicle to give yourself plenty of room. A second set of hands and eyes is a good move.

    Rare Spares produce all the reproduction garnish and tail lights for the Calais except for the boot moulding. NOS come up on Ebay rarely but be prepared to pay up to $600 for it. Sorry not much help.

    My VK V8 as standard had an electric in tank lift pump as well as the mechanical fuel pump at the engine. Maybe you can swap out the in tank high pressure electric pump with a low pressure one.

    Mate Use the sender unit that comes with the tank to get full articulation of the float and an accurate reading. The fuel gauge wiring should plug in. Don't forget to plug the return line. The vent lines go over the chasis rail. Makes things a bit more difficult.

    When my car was repainted the hinge pins were replaced with VT ones. Soak the old pins with WD40 overnite prior to attempting to remove them. I bought my hinge pin removal tool from the local Ford dealer.

    Agreed that a T5 would be best. Chances are the existing box is trimatic. The block would need to be redrilled to turbo pattern or sandwich plate. The V8 pedal boxes are going for a small fortune now.
