Check that the oil pressure relief valve piston is in the right way - the V8 is very similar to the V6, and is located behind the oil filter in the oil pump. Apparently he V8 is notorously hard to get oil pressure when first rebuilt too.

Mine is a V6 - due to the return spring in the wrong way it wasn't getting oil pressure and therefore wouldn't start

Some later series I's had the wiring, but all series II should have it behind the facia so you won't need to do any wiring

I think I've seen it at Dan Murphy's, but it's a bit on the exxy side to drink all the time - usually buy Mercury or Gaymers if I'm away from home... but make my own to drink at home, at around 8-9% alcohol it's pretty good!!

^^ Bellhousing would be different, not sure on mounting etc. And yes.. still have it.. has been replaced with a R154 Box and was only in the car for a couple of months until the R154 box arrived.

Our local Pedders (who also do our race car setup and are very good) told me to replace them with Whiteline adjustables as they are alot stronger. I haven't done it yet, but will get around to it sometime in the future...

the speedo will be out 12% (3.45/3.08). The speedo will be out in proportion to your speed, so say at when you are doing 60, the speedo will say 67, when doing 80, it will say 90. You can't put a flat figure on how many k's it will be out.

ALL VL's 6cyls are 3.45 ratio - just go and get one from the hundreds at a wrecker, that's what I did for my VR and got a Jaycar corrector kit to fix the speedo
