Towing jayco swan or similar with vf sedan.

We’re getting a Millard 1760 semi off-roader tg68, and will be towed with an 07 Pajero. I got the Teckonsha electric brake controller and 12 (flat) pin outlet. Van is about 1640kg nude, 2269kg ATM with a 150kg ball weight. Our Paj tow rating is 2500kg and a max 250kg tow ball mass

Towing jayco swan or similar with vf sedan.

Sorry tg68 n all, I reckon I’m wrong with my Jayco towball weight. From my very rudimentary understanding, a van has “about” 10% of its gvm as towball mass (so my Jayco will be about 100kg ish). Vehicle manufacturers detail exactly what can be towed and respective ball weight... (hmmm)...

Towing jayco swan or similar with vf sedan.

My mate just after I bought our VE international, got his SV6 (October 2009) with the 6 speed auto, he lives in the city and a constant “observation” / complaint was the continuous hunting of gears, otherwise he was happy with the car, he seen the light tho, and bought a MY14 SSV...

Towing jayco swan or similar with vf sedan.

Anthony, our VE was mid 2009, just before the SIDI was engines come in. Our VE was the Omega “International” wagon, very happy with the 6 and only 4 cogs...

Towing jayco swan or similar with vf sedan.

tg68, my experience with our 94 Jayco (AGM 1060kg’s) Eagle was over 8,000 km’s behind an my9.5 VE sport wagon, 3.6 L and a 4 speed auto. Towed very well, tow kit was dealer fitted (new when I bought the car) and a 2100kg unit with a Hayes electric brake controller. Worked very well together...

VF II SS cabin air filter

Hmmm. I generally drive around with the window down and sun roof open not seeing the value of the filter and any subsequent change... I may be wrong and need to pay attention. Yes, I have a non Holden mechanic whom does log book stuff, and in my ignorance, I haven’t asked him if he changes...

worst holden sales in 70 years

Up until a while ago, Holden had car enthusiasts who put up some pretty cool mass produced products, even though I'm sure the bean counters kept 'EM under scrutiny... sadly now Holden are just part of the global sausage factory. Some of us love driving not appropriate but affordable cars, warts...

    Exhaust Rattle After Starting

Here you go CP, I'm full of good ideas, you could get a pair of car ramps and a stethoscope. Apply rear of vehicle to car ramps, warm vehicle up and when your underneath (safely) of said vehicle with your stethoscope being waved around to isolate closely where the racket is emanating from ( you...

    VF sunroof issue

Bugger for those with the sunroof problems, my MY13 VF SSV gets its sunroof opened very regularly over the spring, summer, autumn months, and, touchwood, works spot on. (I had the Bose sound and sunroof added to the SSV when I bought it). Ticked over 110,000 km now and still purring, so apart...

    W457 blew #5 piston

Cuda, I think it was last Saturdays Herald Sun where there was an ad for a class action against Ford, which I recall including the Focus and its gearbox (there was lots of others words, but I'm a pretty simple bastard and can't recall them...). Dunno if this is anyway aligned, but hope it goes...

Is anyone considering the NG commodore after their VF?

In relation to the topic question, yes. Not for me though, the household CEO and minister of finance is currently driving a Trax, but in about 12 to 18 months I'm happy to plonk her behind the wheel for a test thrash, 6 cylinder though.... As a side note, one thing I've noticed a bit over a...

ss manual rough acceleration out of corners

Good. Bummer. Hmm. I expect "sometimes" it may be down to some people's expectations of what their commodity delivers... Again, my view only, my other daily drive is a vfr1200, and my perception is that the harder "he" gets worked, the smoother "he" is, but as I say, this is my observation...

ss manual rough acceleration out of corners

At the risk of being controversial, not enough revs and not pushing hard enough... like some vehicles, can be a pig to drive. Having said that, I'm quite happy with my MY17 redline ute manual - we have an understanding, that is to be smooth, "he" has to be working, my view only...

Is anyone considering the NG commodore after their VF?

Is anyone running a book, that whilst the NG is coming from Europe, it will only be a couple of years and the NG "series 2" will be made in China... now to check sports bet and the like for odds... (A Buick NG in China?)

7 year 175000km warranty on new holdens delivered

Hmm, I'm just thinking out loud that for my April built my 17 redline ute, Holden are helping me with my 3 yr warranty by saying they can now do 7, and of course state and federal statutory warranty rights :-) And I don't have to pay $1300... which I may invest wisely in beer....

Is anyone considering the NG commodore after their VF?

I'll definitely look at it, but not in the same context or emotion as my current and my13 vf... whilst i enjoy the feedback my two current steers give me, I enjoy driving (not being driven unless I need a desigated driver :-/) so I'm happy to take one for a "test drive"!

How was your break in period like when first took delivery of your new car?

My own experience is it took near 20k before it felt "right". (MY13 vf ssv auto). I ran it over Mt Macedon plenty of times, which included bedding in the brakes as part is f the process. Similar approach when I ran in my GSX1250 then VFR1200 when both new... I avoided freeway speeds and...

Will Kia Stinger really flog an SS?

Since this post appears to have moved a bit, I'll go a bit different too... the aspect I dislike is we are outsourcing our mass produced manufacturing knowledge, skill and expertise and its associated I.P, proceses ,efficiencies etc. Not that I expect anything untoward to go on in the world...

Thinking of getting a VF SS Ute

G'day harvs82, whilst mines (ute) the MY17 redline, I can vouch for a big car it rides better than I expected it to, based on near 4 years of a MY13 VF SSV sedan ride, beautifully balanced and grippy through the twisties - mind you the bum does want to oversteer when pushed :-) the noise is...

    October Commodore Charity Cruise ?!?!?

Whilst I'm not inundating this forum with stuff, excellent call Ron, perhaps a trip to Elizabeth, or Holden in Port Melbourne... given I'm in Sunbury, a drive to S.A would be bloody good - not sure what's even in Elizabeth where my wonderful vehicle come from (actually both, new is SoaG ute...

VF Holden Commodore Issues and Faults

Hi All, long time lurker first time poster, first of all, this forum is a wealth of knowledge and conversation, diverse. Anyway, I'm changing tact, yes, I acknowledge my MY13 SSV (auto...) suffers probably the same as many others now waiting for the next service so another recall can be...
