Setting up a turbo 304
Is it just a matter of getting e85 fuel pump and injectors?
has anyone done it and point me in the right direction.
ps: I know the ecu will need tuning.
cheers gentlemen
which would be more efficient for a stock 5.0i (with exhaust) & reprogrammed memcal?

T3 or T4 flanged turbo. Read up on compressor maps and pick a turbo that suits how much boost you want to run and when power comes on.
Exhaust manifolds & dump pipe
Intercooler and piping
Wastegate
Oil sender T-peice and sump drain for the turbo oil feed & lines (sump will need to be removed and...
thx, ill look into it... you wouldn't have a link or what to search under... was TK383 the author of the thread?
thx... I can't see how a turbo setup would be cheaper then a blower, but ill definitely investigate since my engine will be coming out anyway
Do you know the part no. of that cam? I cant find it on there site...
Im assuming the 1.6i whipple is smaller then the m112 (= 1.8i?) I'm trying to find out if it'll hold me back, as I wish to avoid the 2.4i whipple as its too expensive and seems to large for what I want.
do u know if the...
Engine will see mostly weekend and rare/mild track use (drift practise)
If so what internals, compression, cam & psi would be needed? And how high will it need to rev?
Are there any members/workshops who have done this?
Want low to mid power, and no lumpy cams/idle or narrow powerbands...
I'd get a 355/383 crate motor built and if funds permit supercharge it (whipple), and have it freighted to a good workshop to put it all in and get it running, you won't have to lift a finger, and you'll get a lazy 300rwkw :)
I forgot the name, but theres a place that does a t56 conversion for...
Pavtek or Advanced engine performance.
Both have good reputations, both do 500hp+ crate motors. You'll still have to sort out your intake, ECU and fuel system however which will be thousands + labor putting it all in, dyno tuning, and extras we all forget. Don't expect the getrag to live long...
whats your budget?
I've researched this a bit and theres holden crate motors to be had at around 12 - 16g, with everything done, ready to drop in. So add in the labor on top + freight, and you'll see change from 20g I would imagine. That was my original budget, until it skyrocketed to almost 30.
I'm struggling to decide between these 2 pumps for my EFI 5.0i VN
CSR (dearer)
and CVR (cheaper)
What pitfalls are there when installing these things, I know of the following:
- Need davies craig temp controller
- Need thermostat housing tapped to accommodate heater hose connections (2)
-...
Coming along well.
For your suspension settings, get onto a drifting forum, or ring some specialists up. They'll give you advice on what Lb rates to run your front and rear springs at, and shocks (they'll be custom made up to suit everything) for your ute (drift purpose of course ;)). Then...
Sounds good for the financial position your in.
I personally wouldn't bother with coilovers, or adjustable shocks they are a waste of money. Only Adjustable swaybars, panhard rod and camber tops are worth getting IMO. Talk to someone knowledgeable about suspension who also deals in bilstein...
barbagallo raceway looks like a sick track. I'm guessing high HP cars would make the most of those long corners.
You'll probably want to build an engine to suit the track you drift on. Suspension of course, is something you should pay more attention to first, before even thinking about the...
If I get a brake shop to fit the kit, would they need to muck around modifying anything?
all I've read is to swap around the calipers (left to right, fit to back of rotor) and to either remove or cut the dust plate.... Why does the dust plate need to be cut/removed?
If one tried to find a compete VN SS interior (electrics, door panels, the lot), what would be the best way of going about that? Wreckers? Blind luck? Written off SS?
for the brakes ull need hub adapters or something to make em fit. use his master cylinder and everything with it.
decent brake upgrade according to people i know.
I got charged 200 a cog and 400 for a bearing kit.
luckily only 2nd gear needed to be changed over, all other gears were in perfect order... or so he says....
i think the T5 is a peice of crap. Im putting in a t-56
I thought NFS2 was the best for pick up and play with mates.
I was really looking forward to shift as I play Live for speed a lot and thought shift was going to be realistic but was bitterly disappointed
