    I have a serious dent in one of my bonnets from an old desktop computer that was in the shed. The cardboard box below it turned to mush one misty night, and a Pentium 1 case fell from a fair height and went whack, corner first, onto the bonnet.

    Check your transmission fluid. Mine did something similar where it couldn't maintain the TCC Lockup, but only during or briefly after a long climb. I had the transmission serviced after that, and it went away.

    Some sub amps have a rather large capacitor in them. A fault in another circuit may cause that capacitor to discharge dramatically - the sub amp might not have been the cause of the fault. Only a guess though.

    I suspect the starter is internally shorted and is drawing too much current, hence the slow crank and the hot cables. Either that or there's some reason that the motor is unusually hard to crank.

    Tried all the available settings, couldn't make a usable difference, but observed that it's reliable up to at least 2.5K or so, so I could program it to switch to petrol above that. it can do it gradually. Time to have a play with the manual tuning option.

    G'day Lex :) It's a direct injection Landi Renzo Omegas 5-6-8 system that mainly uses the petrol injector timings to meter out LPG. Fried the previous unit when I left the negative terminal disconnected and didn't notice.
