    Koni shocks + King springs

Sure, that's the basic idea, though a shock with plenty of bump resistance might help a bit too... but it might also create problems at other times. You say, however, that your primary problem is inner edge tyre wear. So you need to stand the tyre up more, that's where camber kits come in.

    Koni shocks + King springs

You are bagging K-Mac because you're ignoring the fact that they alone have the attributes that really do the job. You don't need to have a 'track car' to necessitate accuracy in your wheel alignment. Remember, all cars are made to a price. There are compromises in the design and original...

    Koni shocks + King springs

Correct, they are adjustable to compensate for wear, but they are also adjustable to vary suspension operation according to needs. But their greatest asset is their progressivity in operation.

    Koni shocks + King springs

Who said Konis are stiff? Bilsteins are generally stiffer than Koni! What Koni do have going for them is their progressivity so that they provide the kind of resistances that are required at different suspension velocities. On top of that they are adjustable, Bilstein aren't.

    Koni shocks + King springs

Yes, get an alignment and then get told it's 'within specs'. Or maybe 'within specs as good as the adjustment will allow'. It's all a waste of time if you don't fit camber, caster and toe adjusters so the alignment can be made RIGHT. For this you need the bushes made by K-Mac and as fitted to...

    VE SS Ute suspension upgrade

The V8 Utes are using a lot of K-Mac stuff and K-Mac make everything that's desirable here except the shocks... Bilstein or Koni, that's your choice, but I would go with Koni. The K-Mac adjustable bushes give you complete control over the camber, caster and toe settings so you can get things...

    Improving My Ute's Handling

This is to a very large degree true. But with the right settings you can also keep tyre wear down. Why not follow the lead of the guys in the V8 Utes racing series and get some K-Mac kits? They've tested others and now have made K-Mac mandatory.

    vx ss irs camber kits

My experience with K-Mac kits is that they can usually be fitted by a reasonably thoughtful car owner. Some kits, especially strut top camber kits, will require a spring compressor (Super Cheap Auto sells a decent enough one for about $40), but otherwise it's just ordinary hand tools...

22" all round, what suspension i need?

Check out the K-Mac coil jackers. They're a coil-over that fits all makes, readily adjustable for height without jacking the car up. Welcome to K-MAC, Camber Kits, Caster Kits, Springs, Swaybars.

    Rare/Weird holdens

Don't forget the added fuel tank capacity (12 gallons instead of 8.6 or something) *edit. and I see you didn't!... and the external rear vision mirror as standard! Sorry about the EJ box details, I was sure they had the old iron case still... shows I've haven't worked on one for years.

    Rare/Weird holdens

I believe some were sold. Undoubtedly recalled and repaired before very long too. It was a bit of talk about the place in the late fifties. Yeah, I know that. Though I'm not sure about that cluster gear. Main point is that the stories you hear so commonly from 'know it all' people today...

    Rare/Weird holdens

That's true... I was actually at the Commodore Heights release of these cars to journos in Sydney, having been taken out there with my employer of the time... he was invited, I was along for the free breakfast (bacon etc...). The one with the 308 was, I believe, ordered as such especially...

    Rare/Weird holdens

Not quite... He was cut off from factory supply and raced as an independent in Holdens for a bit more than a year. Then he ran BMWs for a year, or maybe two, then he got the Sierras for another year or two. How about the earliest of the FE Holdens for rare cars today? The first several...

    Ask The Copper

Not on a car built since ADR27A. Everything has to work on modern cars, you'd have been able to do that with an FJ or EK or something.

SL Lovell springs comparison to King Springs

Those do look good, they say you can reset them without jacking the car and that you can get repeatable settings (like I'd want, for track days and then driving home again) easily.

    Ask The Copper

I hate that kind of thought. When one is telling the truth, straight down the line, and is opposed by someone lying, if the listener takes the view that the middle line is the truth, then they are believing a lie. No matter what way you cut it, that's the way it is. Unfortunately I think...

    Coilovers

Looking at the K-Mac website they have a thing called 'Coil Jackers' which looks interesting. You just put a socket to the adjuster without jacking the car up and wind the car up or down both front and rear. I spoke to them about these and they also recommended fitting their camber adjusters...

    VL removing gas

Not that bad! Don't forget that there's a gas system computer and wiring that's linked to the car's own ECU. You will probably find dodge wire connectors (gas fitters don't know how to do anything right!) and you might have to be careful how you remove them for fear you'll sever a wire you need...

SL Lovell springs comparison to King Springs

On this subject, does anyone know much about camber kits? I was looking at the K-Mac website ( Welcome to K-MAC, Camber Kits, Caster Kits, Springs, Swaybars. ), which has just been expanded to include all models of Commodores, and their camber kits seem like good things. Has anyone here...
