In sports mode it is open at idle and after 3000rpm. Between idle and 3000rpm the valve is shut. In non sports mode the valve remains shut throughout the rev range. Pull the fuse and you'll hear the difference down low.
Thanks for the replies gents. Just thought a good set of shocks might smooth out things a tad and particularly from a rebound perspective. Advice on the sway bars very useful as I'm not planning on regular track days so guess I will can that and put the $ towards the brakes and powerplant...
Ladies and Gents. I lowered my car a while back with Pedders coils (yes flame away :) and am still using the OEM shocks. They are OK and I like the height but is a little harsh on a bumpy road and pot holes are truly disturbing. Was thinking a change of shock might be in order and was going...
Well today just confirmed to me the need for a blower as I was just completely smoked by what smelt an E85 tuned Typhoon. Wow....it was letting go of the rears at well over 100km/h....awesome!!
Panhead...do you reckon the GTS and the C63 would be more comparable. Certainly closer in price...although still some margin there.
Personally I'm enjoying the W375 and am happy that I've some fall back with warranty (for what it's worth). Blower would be nice though.
It essentially shortens the throw of the accelerator....like a quick draw throttle. Claims are that hastens butterfly opening however I'm a tad sceptical on the data available. For me, just improves the driving experience.
I realise there will be much flaming about this but I popped one of these units on the car today. I had one on my cammed VE SV6 and really liked how much more fun the car felt to drive. Just feels to hastened up instant throttle response and has worked well on the W375. Before all the haters...
Excellent info...appreciate the response and is brilliant to know the mod can be done without the need to change rims. This will be my next mod....I'd also like the stock SSV wheels painted that same gun metal grey colour as the inside of the rim as I think it will look good on the Slipstream...
I'm sure this is a stupid question (please excuse my mechanical ignorance) but did you change the rotors also or was it just the callipers? Also did car originally have the Police brakes fitted to the front?
So James. The DRL's don't dim when lights are on? If so do you think the DRLs are too bright for oncoming vehicles? Can you switch lights on without DRLs?
Great pics and car is looking great James...congrats. Was wondering if you could tell me where the plug and play loom came from for the DRLs? Also I was told yesterday by a pedders dealer that short throw shocks are not available for the VFii unless you go coil overs. Do you know if this is...
Yeah they didn't spend long man. Ran it up, tweaked it a little then test drove and tweaked again. Guess with a cam there would be far more tables to edit than when just checking an already standardised/tested base tune. Not sure about the third gear run. They did the same on the original...
Just had the car in for a tune check at Gentech in Canberra. I've read on several occasions that Walkinshaw dealers tend not to spend much time actually dyno tuning but rather just upload a generic tune. I'm sure the base tune is generic but it is nice to know that some Walkinshaw agents do...
The car seems to be chewing through the factory rears pretty quick so just wondering what ppls thoughts are on tyre preference for their bent 8? Seems I'll only get 20 to 25k out of the factory rubber on the rear.
Yep...word for word. Fair enough...I guess is a bit of a risk. Are you not even curious as to what the the dealership assess "the root cause" to be? What car you got your eye on James?
All sounds fairly consistently ordinary then. I'm going to write to Holden, for all the good it will do me, to voice my concerns. Do people mind if i lift their comments off this thread to reinforce dissatisfaction??
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed that their car duco seems to chip very easily? I've never owned a car in 30 years that seems to be a stone and carpark dingnome magnet like this one is. Just the most delicate of touches seems to cause chips. Is it something I can take back to Holden...
