    V6 non turbo power options?

No vids yet. Got a few photos of it from when we first took it to Heathcote. She's a bit tired at the moment. Diff bushes are absolutely stuffed (to the point that it's undrivable - hit a bump and the whole arse of the car moves while the body stays in the same position), also wouldn't mind...

    V6 non turbo power options?

I nearly bought one of those. Test drove a couple, but I couldn't justify spending another 15k on some leather and a bodykit. (which can be had on eBay anyway) With the money saved I was able to put the missus and my kids into a newer safer car as well. So it was a win, win for me...

vn s2 v6 quick engine mods..

DM 55 WA can't help it, it's go LS1 or go home. I admire his tenacity, but that shits getting old real quick. OP: if you are adament that you want to keep it a V6 then stick an ecotec in it, then go see MACE and buy one of everything. The VN V6 is a tired old dog, and (without boost) you...

    vh commodore starfire to 202?

If you stick a blue 202 in it: ACL HQ racing pistons Starfire rods w/ ARP bolts Steel crank (red 202?) Yella terra ally head Triple Stroms/Webers Tuned length extractors with big-arse long primaries. Will yeild you *maybe 220hp and cost a small fortune. Stick a bog-stock V6 in it...

    Turboin` a V6 Questions

I was shocked at how heavy the damn things are! Me and a mate couldn't even push mine when it died out at Heathcote raceway - heavy bugger of a thing.

    Turboin` a V6 Questions

It'll cost you a bit of coin to get a V6 to run as quick as a stock FG XR6T (some of which have run 12 second passes standard). If you do go down this road then turbo the VS (as the ecotec is a slightly better platform). For a turbo, youre best bet would be to grab a second-hand XR6T turbo...

    10second quarter for under 5-10grand................hopefully

Turbo turned up - about damn time. It's alot of turbo for a T04 body I reckon: That's a bare seriesII Buick V6 block underneath the turbo & 40mm Wastegate. 4" inlet, 2.5" outlet, & 3" v-band exhaust. Started doing a bit more work on the body today too. Pulled the passenger side...

    V6 non turbo power options?

Don't get me wrong, the BA is a piece of **** too. Diff bushes, drive shafts, con-rods, and the gearbox are all made of glass. As I said, I'm sure there are some decent LS1 powered commodores out there - I just haven't met them.

    V6 non turbo power options?

Yes an LS1/Barra240 is going to rubbish a V6 - but at this point in time that is all he's limited to. As for my basis of "LS1's are ****" - I also mentioned I've driven a couple, but you chose to gloss over that. The couple I have driven were rubbish. LS3/6/7 would be a much better goal for...

    V6 non turbo power options?

because it looked stupid - your post just reminded me to do it. It's 480rwhp if you were wondering. Limited by the size of my dump-pipe. Edit: It was 480rwhp prior to the CAPA flashbox (XCAL-1) no longer recieving support/updates. I don't have the funding to upgrade to an XCAL-3 and...

    V6 non turbo power options?

:flame::flame: FYI: LS1's are ****. Every single one I've come up against has gone crying home to mummy before I even got out of third gear. (and this car barely owes me $16k). I'm sure there are some good examples out there - but of the 2 I've driven, they were both crap. Gutless, floaty...

    stage 2 shift kit price?

Transgo is better than B&M (as it comes with ALOT more parts - the B&M is very basic) Transgo: $188 B&M: $75-80 Corvette servo: $60 I'm gonna have a crack at building my own when I get it. For $250 it's certainly going to make the car a whole...

Quality of different brands of gauges.

Three posts back I made mention that "yumcha crap" was, well crap. I was referring to stuff like this calibre garbage. So "Calibre have given me nothing but trouble" The gauges may well work - but they are never going to display the correct readings. Never. You should of bought one...

    97 VS Executive

^^ Justin at Tuffcar parts is a Champ. He gets all of my business when ordering parts. Couldn't recommend him highly enough. I recently bought a Redback cat-back from him for a mates VT V6, arrived 2days later (as he's in QLD and I'm in VIC), all wrapped up safe'n'sound.

Quality of different brands of gauges.

Just buy some autometer gauges and be done with it. I've had Speco, Drift/yumcha crap, and Autometer gauges. All the others have died - but the Autometer ones are like the Terminator, they just keep coming back, even after some of them being in 3,4 or 5 different cars.

Thanks mate. Hopefully the turbo turns up today. It's been on it's way to me since the 29th..... In the mean time here's what the BA did to a driveshaft at it's first run at the drags: Hopefully the BW78 in the commodore will stand up to a bit more abuse! I've also bought a set...

    Project Ideas need your opinion

VL turbo diff won't fit in the wagon. The innards of one will fit in your housing though. Also: How the hell is it cheaper to get the same power out of a 5ltr than an RB30?! Are you on drugs? $25 boost controller, $300 on a dump-pipe and cat = a metric f___ tonne more power than a boat...

    vn calais junkbucket

It's an earth problem I reckon. Check em all (yes there's more than one). If they look dodgy/tired/too small; replace em and I reckon the problem will go away. Also, do you have a stereo in it (ie: an amp?)

how do you bridge a inhibitor switch????

Theres a couple of wires you have to bridge under the radio surround ( about 6inches in front of the shifter). Though, I can't remember which ones - I'll see if I can find a link.

    10second quarter for under 5-10grand................hopefully

Almost forgot! Went to the wreckers around the corner after work the other day to grab a VN dashpad. However I ended up scoring this for $20: Going to fill the entire exposed upper section with a piece of 5mm ally sheet, and mount my gauges and rocker switches in there. Gonna look...

    10second quarter for under 5-10grand................hopefully

New stuff turned up for this yesterday: Turbo blanket, 1350degree exhust heat wrap, a billet in-line fuel filter (cos it was cheap), and a whole heap of flanges. Got a great discount on some seamless tube for the rollcage - so one of my mates (metal fab'er) is going to bend/notch & weld...

    vs ute hp

    Boost will fix this.
  34. neet_wagon

    is this normal?

Yes. Typical of most commodores of at least the VN - VS period. Everyone I have owned was like that. You can fix it by pulling the seats out and "adjusting" the seat-rails with a hammer. You just need to adjust the little tabs on the front usually.

Freak work accident - One to make you wince in sympathy

There is that, yes. But, I couldn't imagine what I went through happening to anybody else, not even him. The hardest part of all this is being a former state champion soccer player (I played for 12 years), and having to sit on the sidelines and watch my son teach himself how to play the game...

Yeah good luck with that! Nearly three years ago this happened. Finally START the court battle after September this year. MIGHT be all finished by March next year. Doesn't sound like an AWEFUL long time to wait - but I know have three kids, and before the accident I earned $90,000 p.a (take...

So small update. I just bought a full set of nolathane bushes for the VN, as well as a set of nolathane adjustable strut tops. Earlier I also bought a turbo blanket, 30mtr's of exhaust heat-wrap, and an inline billet fuel filter. The missus has decided that she is going to kill me, which...
