It'll cost you a bit of coin to get a V6 to run as quick as a stock FG XR6T (some of which have run 12 second passes standard). If you do go down this road then turbo the VS (as the ecotec is a slightly better platform). For a turbo, youre best bet would be to grab a second-hand XR6T turbo...

^^ Justin at Tuffcar parts is a Champ. He gets all of my business when ordering parts. Couldn't recommend him highly enough. I recently bought a Redback cat-back from him for a mates VT V6, arrived 2days later (as he's in QLD and I'm in VIC), all wrapped up safe'n'sound.

Just buy some autometer gauges and be done with it. I've had Speco, Drift/yumcha crap, and Autometer gauges. All the others have died - but the Autometer ones are like the Terminator, they just keep coming back, even after some of them being in 3,4 or 5 different cars.

VL turbo diff won't fit in the wagon. The innards of one will fit in your housing though. Also: How the hell is it cheaper to get the same power out of a 5ltr than an RB30?! Are you on drugs? $25 boost controller, $300 on a dump-pipe and cat = a metric f___ tonne more power than a boat...

fwiw: You can get Autometer gauges cheap as chips on Ebay. I just got a 15 inch shift light tacho for the race car for $100, brand new in the box. Pretty good value I reckon.

Have you been to the wreckers around here? One of them wants $330 for a busted box.

It's an earth problem I reckon. Check em all (yes there's more than one). If they look dodgy/tired/too small; replace em and I reckon the problem will go away. Also, do you have a stereo in it (ie: an amp?)

Theres a couple of wires you have to bridge under the radio surround ( about 6inches in front of the shifter). Though, I can't remember which ones - I'll see if I can find a link.

Yes. Typical of most commodores of at least the VN - VS period. Everyone I have owned was like that. You can fix it by pulling the seats out and "adjusting" the seat-rails with a hammer. You just need to adjust the little tabs on the front usually.
