    V6 Water Pump Changeout

I replaced my water pump a few months ago only to find that the o-rings in the inlet pipe at the top of the engine were leaking. Not 100% sure they weren't the problem in the first place. Not saying it isn't your water pump, just worth checking the inlet pipe too.

VZ Water outlet & inlet seals

try one of those telescopic mirrors to have a better look down the back of the engine to identify the source of the leak. As far as I know, the only external cooling parts at the rear (that are not readily visible) are the thermostat housing and heater pipe, so this should narrow the problem area.

VZ Water outlet & inlet seals

No joy getting those o-rings at Repco, so just cleaned-up to old ones and used Permatex blue per Deano's suggestion. Am pretty sure they are just normal rubber, feel similar to the NBR o-rings I use in the air suspension on my Rangies. Also changed the radiator hose clamp to a worm type clamp...

VZ Water outlet & inlet seals

Thanks Deano, I may do that yet. Heading over to Repco now to get a new plenum gasket and will see if they have the o-rings at a reasonable price. Will grab some Permatex blue as well. Cheers, Paul.

VZ Water outlet & inlet seals

bump! - anyone found an alternate supplier for these 10c seals that Holden want $30 each for? Having just replaced the water pump and then the heater control valve on my VZ Crewman V6, it seems to be a rolling comedy of errors where the next part of the cooling system fails when another part...

    VZ Commodore/Crewman Indicator/Cruise Stalk replacement

Hi lads and ladettes I've just replaced the stalk on the steering column for the indicator and cruise control for my VZ Crewman. Documented here at http://paulp38a.com/2005-crewman /indicatorcruise-control-stalk-replacement/ Not rocket science, but may be of help to those guys who haven't...

Post your car audio system and pictures

Nice work sweefu - very tidy and looks legal. My son got pulled up by the Queanbeyan boys in blue for not having his sub secured properly and the grommet in the firewall installed for the amp power lead. Got a defect on his EF Fairmont Ghia for his troubles. Shame he doesn't have mates like...

Full stereo install guide, VZ SV6

Thank you Walkintheseshoes, this will be very useful when I swap out the stock Blaupunkt stereo for an iPod headunit in my Crewman in the near future. Unfortunately, Phreddy's audio.html page is no longer available. Is there an updated link for this information please? Cheers, Paul.

    Cruise control not turning on

ok, thanks mate. I'm suspecting a problem with the switch/button too. I've only had the ute for a few days and don't like my chances of getting the dealer to fix it, although I can always ask.

    Cruise control not turning on

Hey Danny, how did you go with your cruise control problem? I've got pretty much the same problem on my VZ Crewman. Checked the fuse = ok, checked the brake lights = ok, haven't found the switch under the brake pedal yet. Cheers, Paul.
