Your best bet would be to take it to a panel beater shop and see what they see to get a proper idea. Also if you open the boot, take some picts and also under the car as well.

You should start by back tracking all the stuff you just did and check that you didn't knock a wire out or something isn't plugged in right.

I don't think its possible to do it and as others have said its highly illegal. So just check it out and get a mechanic to give a second opinion if your that worried.

Ok I will give that a try when I get some time but i think its stuffed because it starts distorting/crackling when bass goes through the front left. Also the speakers are running from the H/U.

You could try using a fm transmitter, if you cant connect it directly to the headunit.
