Well from experience here is my way of testing if its the torque converter or the transmission- go to a quiet stretch of road, put your foot on the brake hard and put it into 1st then apply 100% throttle, DO NOT do this for more then 5 seconds. During this test your RPM's should be around...

mate while you got the belt of just give ALL the pullies a spin and you will know if you have a rooted bearing in one, it usually is a idler but you never know, just give them all a spin, if they make a grinding/rough sound when they spin, you found your problem

have you tested that the sensor is working ? from memory it is a 2 wire sensor yes ? if so just run the multimeter on resistance and push your accelarator in and out and the resistance should change i would imagine, if it dosnt start looking around there for the problem. If its not, theres a...

haha i got no idea what brand is under my R8, i just went to the muffler man and told them to take the mufflers out and put hot dogs in, ring them up and have a yarn to them ( or who ever you are going to ) and they'll steer you in the right direction

as muckute said, take pictures as you pull it apart ! best trick ever there not as hard as todays cars but they still are a pain in the arse, get your aircon gas drained before you go to remove the evaporator, its a green thing you shouldnt need any special tools but if my guess is right...

go hotdog in the mid section of the exhaust and if you still want a muffler have it at the rear, thats the combo i found worked when i had a V6

could be a failing idler pully mate, take your belt off and spin everything and feel the bearings as they turn, you'll know when you find one thats rooted

do you have access to a scan tool at all ? it would be best to get the error code to see why its going into limp mode
