Anyone know how to remove/replace VE Auto Gear Stick?

Yeah, did this myself a few months back. I reckon you have to get a screw driver and stick it into the top corner of the button, then the opposite corner to get it out, then you can get to that screw enforcer was talking about. Then the pin down the bottom, and she slides straight off. Mine...

What parts will you retrofit your VE?

I guess it's hard to say without knowing much about specific parts. Who really knows what will fit cosmetically. Mechanically, I don't think they've really recreated the wheel though.

Americans to pay $10,000 less for VF Commodore

The Malibu disgusts me. Pretty sure the Commodore already has it covered for everything. I see no point in the Malibu.

Americans to pay $10,000 less for VF Commodore

Hard to see the Commodore surviving as is. As Mike Devereax has said, the Commodore will likely continue on, but not as we've come to know it. Possibly SUV? Holden/HSV long term is the Cruze. Saddening for a lot of diehard Commie fans, but imagine HSV getting their hands on the Cruze and going...

    Video of VF models

I'll be looking at an SSV in white I reckon. Black rims, dark tints... yeah that'll work for me.

    Spotted VF today

The tail end looks different from any previous model, so naturally it will take time for people to accept it as a commodore. The VE had plenty of negative feedback, particularly about the tail lights, but here we all are driving them around proudly. This is a new, global direction for the...

From what we can see, which is really not all that much, I think they'll go a subtle and tasteful look. I wonder what legal ramifications would occur if you did just rip the covers off lol. It would be worth a thought...

    fog ballast air intake ?

^ What he said. That filter would get saturated when it rains. Rain directly hitting bar, and the water splashing up off the road too. It's at a level that would catch a hell of a lot of water.

VE Series_2 HSV Headlights Fit VE Series_1 Holden ?

Yeah, basically HSV didn't change the headlights when Holden did.

    Flex Fuel

We don't get that E10 crap here. Wouldn't go near it anyway. Haven't seen E85 around either, but would be somewhere in Adelaide.

    Ute colours

After having owned a burgundy VT, and now a silver VE, I'd go with silver. Looks good and clean even when it isn't. I used to hate looking at my VT the next day after a wash because it never took much to make it look dirty. Also, the silver looks awesome on the VE, probably the best match IMO.

    Potential Rodeo Purchase

Hey guys, I'm currently looking into buying the RA Rodeo from my work. My current employer has lost the contract on site, and are looking to offload some machines and vehicles, so I'll likely pick the ute up for an absolute steal. As far as I know, it is 2003-05(not 100% on what year exactly)...

    Can't decide e1 e2 or e3 maloo

Personally, I'm more of a fan of the E1. I think the front ends get a little too busy there after. In saying that, the E3 technology and interiors are much better.

    Spotted VF today

It wouldn't surprise me if that red pic of the speculated base model was pretty close to the real look. That above sports model's boot looks like it could be that long, but is broken up by the rear spoiler. And I concur, that does look good.
  21. burleighboy86

    vf base model

I can't remember a base model commodore that I have liked. There is a general blandness about them all, as they are highly conservative. The rims look too small, and the kits on them are usually ugly. But, there has always been a big market for commodore mods, and the VF will be no different. At...

    VF Ute and wagon!!!

In reality, the series 2 VE was more of a new model to the VE than any previous ones were. The VN and VP would look the same if the grilles were the same. VR and VS have few changes, except engine (correct if wrong). The VX is the VT with slightly different lights. The story is the same for all...

    VF Ute and wagon!!!

I should probably rephrase that question. Something like 'Why would they mess with the current formula?'. It should stay exactly how it is. A rear wheel drive sports sedan/wagon/ute. They're making advances all the time with it. If they go away from that formula, Australians won't see it as a...

    VF Ute and wagon!!!

I reckon they've likely had good feedback for the rear of the ute and wagon over the VE life, but plenty of negativity for the sedan, and thought they'd leave the ute and wagon alone while giving the sedan the revamp it needed. Also, the sedan is being sold overseas, not the ute and wagon, so it...

Here's another comparison. I'm a big fan of the car though. After seeing that shot of the white one, I may be looking a little earlier than expected... I would say they are almost identical.

    So, Who's Actually Buying One?

There is a distinctive HSV look to it isn't there. Very aggressive front end with similar shapes and angles to the E3. I still can't get into those tail lights though. Here's to hoping HSV redo the tail lights again. Overall though, I'm impressed. No the same feeling when I saw the VE sports...

    So, Who's Actually Buying One?

After seeing the VF now, I thought I'd see how many people are now looking to do the upgrade. I'm sure there were a lot of people out there who were completely happy with what they had, then they saw the VF, and all of a sudden, it looks old, tired and ready for a trade in lol. On the flip...
  32. burleighboy86

    so whats everyones thoughts?

GM are after a car that can compete on the world stage. With the VF, they will. The VE S2 began to look like a car that could do that, but the VF is worlds ahead. One thing I don't really like is the grille, but I expect something sportier and aggressive for the SS/SV6. I reckon I'll be...

    headlights

I'm planning on upgrading my sv6 lights to the projector ss-v ones and have looked into how it's done, and it looks a pretty easy job. However, you do have to take the front bar off. Just a matter of unscrewing all the screws at the top, and undoing some scrivets I believe.

The OFFICIAL VE ALLOYTEC V6 SUPER MASSIVE FUN HAPPY TIME exhaust thread!!!!!!!11!!!!

I rang my local exhaust place this arvo to see if they had any ss quad exhausts laying about the place. I was surprised when he replied with, "we usually just throw them out". I know they are just a stock item, but if he had any around, I'd have bought them.

    SS-V Exhaust Tips

Thanks for the feedback guys. Maybe it was after market, but there was another ss-v with the same looking ones too. Could be coincidence though lol. The thing that drew me to them mainly, was the stainless steel look. They really stood out as a classy touch.

    SS-V Exhaust Tips

So, the other day I was walking past a series 2 ss-v and noticed it had stainless steel tips where it looked like the ends were rolled in. 2010 VE SV6 SIDI Performance upgrades

I think people have got a little crazy from both sides here. Sure, it was probably a big mistake to come out like he did, but still there were people going on about buying an ss.
