Hey mate, as my last post stated it was a corrupt file in the pcm and needed the tune to be wiped and reloaded. I didn't have a lean condition though. It could take a fair bit of mucking around to find it mate. Mine had alot of people scratching their heads.

Fixed!!! Turned out to be a corrupt file in the pcm. Cleared the pcm and re flashed the factory tune and all is good. Thanks for all the help guys!

So i moved the pcm to the foot well and it made no difference. Had the car on a dyno today and something is setting the knock sensors crazy (not detonation). They are pulling 10+ deg of timing. So they adjusted the sensitivity of them and after a couple of tweaks its running alot better but...

OK I took the intake manifold off today and this is what I found There was water in the hole on the front knock sensor. I would imagine that when the engine gets hot the water turns to steam and condensation on the rubber lid and water runs down inside knock sensor. I'll buy a new set of knock...

Yeah I'm now leaning towards my PCM or knock sensors failing. Has anyone had a knock sensor go bad without throwing a code??

An elm 327 cable with a few different software programs. But the only program that will "read" codes is one called software on elm street. All the others just give engine data etc but won't read codes

That's more the answer I was after. Like what can bring timing down. Iat and cts seem fine buts only looking at their readings on my scan software

I thought 5 dbtdc would be way too low during acceleration. Can't see it being coil packs as its not a miss. More like timing being pulled in and out. I'm stumped

Pressure test come up OK for fuel pump and filter is new. And it worries me that it might be one of those throw parts at it till its fixed problems!

Bit of an update. Changed oxygen sensors and has not helped the problem at all Have been working away so haven't had much of a chance to muck around with the car. Checked fuel pressure today and it hold 60psi no worries at all. Just not sure where to go next! Any suggestions??? Its just strange...

Depends on the mods, I had a VL hi compression turbo and would get around 220 - 250ks to a tank. I now have a VT clubsport ls1 and get around 500 to 600ks a tank. Like I said though depends on how much boost etc etc

My VZ Calais v6 used 12.5 to 13L per 100ks and my VT clubsport ls1 uses12 to 13L per 100ks so go figure lol. If I get a bit spirited with the clubsport it may go up to 14.5 for a while. Both are probably 60% freeway 40% suburbs

Put a straight edge on your head to see if its warped? I had the same thing happen, thought it was the head gasket but the head had warped so much it wouldnt seal on the gasket.
