    Walkinshaw Power Upgrade V AFM

The exhaust sounds great when downshifting, not crap. I gently tap the accelarator and get a great response from the exhaust. A nice grumbling gurgle, hardly fluttering. But, each to their own I suppose. I would never change brands and will consider going 3 inch in the future, If I decide to buy...

    Walkinshaw Power Upgrade V AFM

G’day fellas, thought I’d throw my two cents in as well. I have a Walkinshaw Power pack with 2.5 exhaust fitted to my SSV that was done back in 2009. I don’t have the OTR but the growler intake and am more than happy with the results. I have thought of going down the OTR route but my local...

    Please confirm Autographs

I had my VE engine cover signed by heaps of drivers at the Eastern Creek test day last year. I missed out on Lowndes and Murph though. I haven't cleared coated mine yet and the sigs are still okay. I plan on taking it out of the car and replacing it with engine covers anyway.

Stock SSV Tune / power delivery

Agree 100% on that. I never use anything but Ultimate in mine and it runs ever so smoothly. My mechanic told me that Ultimate is made by Shell but BP put their own additives in it to give it the level of perfromance they claim it delivers. He aslo told me that on dyno runs Ultimate gave the best...

    No respect for anyones property

There's an atricle in the Sydney morning herald today from the NRMA quoting that up to 90% of damaged cars are not left with a note from the offender. My eldest stepdaughter drives a mazda 3 and had her car hit by another woman who politley left an apolegtic note with a contact number...

    Walkinshaw Power Pack

I too had the sill plates installed but not the lowering. Might get that done soon. One thing I will be buying however is Walkinshaw wheel centre caps. You can't get them form Walkinshaw in oz but I contacted the U.K branch and they told me I can buy them there. They're just waitng on some more...

Tune & OTR this Saturdy morning

Dunno. Are you talking about Walky's OTR without a dyno run? Becasue when I rang to get a quote I was told $1500.00 for the OTR plus tune.

Tune & OTR this Saturdy morning

I'm happy for you Benny. I was thinking of doing the same with this otr as there are no geometric changes to the cars components and it looks like a nice easy install and snug fit. Looks really easy to clean too. But, I was gonna go with with Walky and I may still do, I haven't fully decided...

    Inconsiderate people in car parks

Include me in that too. Maybe they just want to park next to our cars. I can't help if my beast is damn sexy:rofl2:

Is the Walkinshaw Exhaust Stainless Steel?

Congrats on your Walky pack bro. I've had mine for 18 months and it sounds better every day. Now that we're back in the cold weather especially.

    VE engine cover mods

Back to the orignal topic, I had my shell signed by the drivers at Eastern Creek on Jan 29. Ironically first by Dick Jonhnson. I missed out on Lowndes's siggy but i managed to get HRT, JDR, GRM, plus a few others. So, if any of you were there and remember seeing a guy in HRT shirt lugging...

Any1 tried liqui moly speed tec additive?

Don't waste yor time with it. Read the manual that Holden supplies with your car and they advise not to bother as todays engines don't need them. In fact most cars don't, according to the NRMA (NSW).

VE SS 2 Speedo Problems..... sorta :P

If my speedo was playing up more than once then I'd take it back for repairs. Common sense really.

Could also depend on the mods as far as the price goes. What's been done to it???

    Manual or Auto?

I prefer the manuals. I once only drove auto's but when we got our new work trucks a few years ago they only came in manual so I had no choice but to learn. Now I'm not a fan of auto's and guess what???we've gone back to autos on our work trucks. Sometimes when I'm slowing down at lights in the...

    SS Catback Exhaust

No doubt, but, at the moment it's off the radar. I promised my wife an overesas trip this year so any future mods will have to wait. Next year will be here quicker than you know so I can wait till then to do some more upgrading. And, realistically we all know the speed limit so having more mods...

    SS Catback Exhaust

I'm only repeating what I've been told and that was from the owner of the Walkinshaw shop that I went to. He could've told me, yeah man do it...but for what I had done, it wasn't necessary.

    SS Catback Exhaust

Well I've now had my Walky power pack on for 13 months and it sounds great, nice and meaty. I have the 2.5 exhaust and thought about going 3 to begin with. But as I was told, you don't need it when you're just doing a CAI upgrade and exhaust. Same as headers, a wate of time. But, as Tinsnips...

    Courtney moves to HRT

I'm rapt he's come over. And, with the amount of soft tyre rounds next year, here's hoping he dominates. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but I always had a feeling he'd drive for Holden eventually. Maybe because of 05 and even thought that wasn't favourable to him, I always had it in...

    Anyone fitted Walkinshaw power pack?

The HYPE is worth it. I've had my power pack in for 12 months now and I love. It sounds great and responds beautifully. I intend to upgrade the car with more Walkinshaw products eventually. Maybe their wheel package and have it lowered. It will cost a motza but it's nice to know that they (the...

VE SV6 SII engine bog down before accelerating!

Before I brought my SSV manual I owned a VZ auto. When I wanted to put my foot down I throw it back in third, let it build up the revs and speed a bit then throw it back to drive. I didn't have to do this, but, being an auto it helped gain acceleration quicker, because I noticed that time lag...

    Running in oil/First oil change?

I used to change my oil every 5k years ago, but with my last car (VZ Lumina) I only had the oil changed per the service requirements. I never had a problem with the car either. The engine ran smooth and never gave any hint of deterioration through grime build up etc. Plus I filled it with E10...

    VE Servicing

I too was given the old extended warranty period (I didn't ask for it either) but I have renigged on mine already I suppose as I always take my cars to Ultratune. My contract stipulated that all services were to be done at Suttons to keep the extended warranty. I confrimed this with the lead...

    Grades

Have any of you guys ever heard of Q8 oils? I had my car serviced at Ultratune and had it topped up with that. They recommended and used the F1 10W-50 for my SSV. Haven't had a problem with it either. That was about 3 months ago.

What's the ideal ride height when lowering?

I agree they are pricey, but, I guess I'm just a sucker for the brand as I like to look of the sill plates when I open my doors. The exhaust tips are a great finish(although I have seen some nice exhausts around, i prefer mine) or looking under the hood at the CAI. I also now have the larger...

What's the ideal ride height when lowering?

Do youmean the exhaust and CAI's?? I think it's no different really to most other comapnies that sell their product from another source. The home entertainment area is a beauty for this. Plasma tellys, amplifiers, speakers, cables etc made by other brands with premium prices but flogged as...

What's the ideal ride height when lowering?

I wanted to get mine lowered as well, but, I was surprised that some workshops plus mates have actually tried to talk me out of it. I always get the same questions too... How's your driveway? Are you happy with how your car rides now? If so don't change it. You feel everything much more on...

    Ve series 2

I like the new front end on the SS range but I'm filthy that they now get GPS as standrard. They should agree to upgrade existing SSV's with GPS for a minimal amount, not 3k like before.
