    Mirkz's VT SS

I would've loved to haha. I wont have the money to though, I'm in the process of sorting a purchase for a GSXR1000 from a friend of mine (he's spent too much money on his and done all sorts, so I shouldnt have to spend much money on it myself). Really looking forward to being back on a bike...

    Mirkz's VT SS

Well guys, the car is no longer mine. It's been sold. Was kind of sad in a way to see it go, but the new owner seemed very happy with it, so I hope he continues to show it love haha. I don't know when I'll be getting a car next. Have to put a couple of grand away for Japan still. After that I...

    Mirkz's VT SS

Got my airbag light sorted today. Has been on for the past 6 months after going through that car wash that destroyed my last front bar, was dropping my gf off to pick up her car from a service and asked if they had a tech 2 or whatever it is that could reset it. They logged in, checked out...

    Gamers

I recently bought an Xbox, have always had PS3 for the past few years and the prior ps2 and original playstation. I'm also into pc gaming. Have too many games on the go at the moment, so I'm starting to just try and stick with those ones and finish them off. Lately I've been playing Forza 4...

    Diff OIL

Just bumping this because its an oil thread. Have people used the nulon g70 additive for their LSD's? I got some today to try because I can't seem to get hold of any Ford Racing friction modifier that I've been recommended to use... thoughts ?

Bump! Just changed the oil and oil filter. Also fitted a new horn as I found the other one was playing up.

    Sweeney's VC SL/E injected 195i 304

Haha all good man. I don't have anything against holden, or ford for that matter, but I dunno... you compare a '93 skyline to a '93 VP and the difference in features etc is huge. (I had both, so I'm allowed to compare) :P Maybe I had a crap car, but the VT hasn't restored any faith that...

    Sweeney's VC SL/E injected 195i 304

I had an R33 years ago. Loved it a lot more than the commodore. Much better build quality in my opinion :P

Fair call. Looks like you picked up a very clean ride anyway. I'm semi-selling mine. I kind of want to finish the project, but even if I did I don't think I'd be truly happy with it. I'm thinking I'd prefer to get an import again and a bike :P

    Mirkz's VT SS

Been pretty quiet with the car the past couple months. I did an engine oil and filter change on Sunday. Also fitted a new horn as my last one sounded like a sissy and may have been stuffing up. (no air horns, just standard disc horn replacement). I've also got some diff oil to go into the...

what did you do to your car today?

Not today, but yesterday I changed the engine oil and oil filter and fitted a new horn disc.

    Owners behind the Motors

27, worked in insurance for the past 3yrs. Prior to that I was doing a brief stint of labouring after doing FIFO for 6 months. Have had a number of different jobs. Can't wait to get into something else and out of insurance... *sigh*. Currently have a VT SS 5L that I've had for about 2yrs...

    Asking price...

Cheers guys. Yeah figured it'd be the case but thought I'd ask anyway, just to hear everyone elses thoughts. Especially this day an age where petrol prices are climbing etc. v8's definitely don't have much 'pulling power' in terms of sales, and I can understand the ole 5L. She's a slug, but...

    Asking price...

Mmm that's what I was thinking. Chances are I'll just bide my time and hang onto it for now. Moreso throwing ideas around in my head at the moment. Given the money spent so far, I'm thinking it'd be better for me to just hold onto it for a long time. It's a good car and I enjoy it by all...

    Asking price...

Hi all, With regards to an asking price on a car. Do people take into consideration what money has been spent over recent time (ie last 24 months etc) when buying cars? I'm considering whether to sell mine or not, and I don't want stupid money for it or anything crazy to get my money back...

    Mirkz's VT SS

Thanks stothers, I definitely try and do my best with it. Even though it's not one of the best examples on this forum, I'm glad people still appreciate it and what I've done so far. Cheers

    Mirkz's VT SS

Cheers Ant, will look into it when I'm free next. I've heard of people using a Jaycar speedo kit as well. Now that the diff is done, I'm probably going to hold off doing much to the car for some time. Hoping to get myself to Japan later this year and will need to focus my spare cash into...

Please help me identify what these are?

Ok so the diff went in fine. Much easier once we knew exactly what we we're doing after we got the old one out. Thanks to everyone for the advice and information :)

    Mirkz's VT SS

The diff is in, definitely feels smoother, even changing gears feels smoother, feels like the car is lighter, and by that I mean it doesn't feel so like it's trying so hard to get up to speed. Gonna try find somewhere to sort the speedo tomorrow, anyone in Perth know of someone who can do the...

Please help me identify what these are?

Don't think they're moulded dude. Check out pics of my car in my thread, they're just the usual flat mudflap with a holden emblem. (the emblem is not white).

Please help me identify what these are?

Yeah all good guys. We pulled the stub axles out last night, cleaned them up, regreased em and put em into the new diff. We also got that blue liquid gasket stuff too and let it sit overnight to dry. The stub axles were all relatively easy (a flat head screw driver used to lever them off on...

Please help me identify what these are?

Well the job is half done. It took us quite a few hrs to get the existing diff out as we didn't have all the tools we thought we would (gf's bro wasn't able to get into the workshop to bring his tools home). The allen key bolts around the stub axle are a fkn prick... and one alone took us an...

Please help me identify what these are?

That's cool man, already onto the stub axles. The seller pre warned me about those. Apparently it's a simple job to take em out. Just a matter of levering them off with a flat head or something?

Please help me identify what these are?

The only other part I'm worried about would be those small lugs that you can see that seem to just 'position' the lid. But if there's an issue with the lugs not going in due to changing the lid over, I'll just cut em off or something. I'm sure they're not that important when you have a bunch...

Holden No Longer Australia #1 Car!!

I like jap cars, they're compact, full of features, and usually well made. In my opinion I'd be more inclined to purchase a late model jap car than a late model commodore. Why? Personally I think the VE's in particular have lost touch with a lot of things. Look at the doors, flat, boring...

Awesome info Cashman, thanks! Should be fairly straight forward. Didn't look to be too difficult last night when I looked at it all. The only thing that threw me was the sensors.

Please help me identify what these are?

I noticed that, but it may be because it's just IRS they moved it for some reason? I'm gonna have a look into it anyway and see what happens. Worst case scenario, my current diff will get an oil change after it gets ripped out to see if the lid is interchangable until I can get the brackets...

Utes - Who do you insure through and how much?

Are you saying that you'd insure your car with an insurer that doesn't insure your mods to pay less? I'm sure if that were the case it'd be an interesting experience for you if you had to claim against that policy?

    Having a spit.

I see this behavior all too often nowadays. People are all too fast to jump the queue and get served first, they don't care who they step over etc to do it. It's disgusting. Good on you for saying something about it. I'm usually, unfortunately, the kind of person who'll sit there a writhe in...

Please help me identify what these are?

I'll be doing the job with my gf's brother who's a diesel mechanic and apparently done a lot of work with diffs etc in the past. So should be all sweet. I'm gonna try do most of it myself if possible, but having someone in the business there will be a help!

Please help me identify what these are?

Fingers crossed! :) Thanks for the help guys... I'm still a bit worried about it going smoothly, but hopefully it'll come through fine for me! I'll probably post up something in my car's thread once it's done giving the outcome! (if not here)

Please help me identify what these are?

I think asking if it was ABS diff was the only thing I didn't check... fail by me :( Didn't even think about the ABS side of things. I really hope the lids just swap, that'd be fkn brilliant. lol.
