    Flappy Paddles

Totally agree with Tinsnips re "V12 Vantage". Also although irrelevant I think there may have been a paddle shift option on the VZ Calais and sv6.

    SSV Headrest Removal

Gday guys/girls i was looking to do what VTSS350 is going to do(cant wait to see the pics VTSS350), as i was thinking that replacing the head restraints themselves may effect the operation of them in an accident as they are active head restraints. Anyone no if the active operation would still...

    Using different grades of fuel

Good luck with your purchase Kunalraiker, there's plenty of super deals out there second hand at present

    Using different grades of fuel

Gday Kunalraiker, Whilst you don’t really know what it's been running before you own it, I’d still be running it on at least premium 95 RON. From July next year in NSW regular unleaded as we know it today will be phased out (it's actually already started to be unavailable at some servo's)...

What are the biggest size rims that will fit on a VE Clubsport R8?

yeh, i cant say i was fan of it. maybe it was the same one, it was a black wagon, though there's probabaly a few of them floating around no doubt

What are the biggest size rims that will fit on a VE Clubsport R8?

Mate of mine has 22’s on his and they seem to fit no problem, but IMO What ever size you put on it needs to have at least as much adherence as the originals, otherwise it’s a step backwards. I’m all for good looks but it needs to be practical and 550+NM of torque is a lot if your lacking in the...

    Opinions of VE

Gday Alan, I love my V8's and my holdens’s (I’ve owned 10 commodore’s) and unless I spend 140k+ there ain’t much else to buy with in a V8 and the size of a commodore. Unfortunately for me my VE has been a real downer compared to the previous VZ. Whilst the dynamics, handling, and OEM power...

Replace SS factory headunit with aftermarket system

Cheers mate, sound like a reasonable cost for what you got.

    Using different grades of fuel

Gday SV666, If you are planning on keeping the car for a long period of time, I would personally be using V-power. I've actually seen first hand two different engines from the same manufacture used for the same duty, with one run on V-power and one on standard 91 RON and was amazed at the...

    SSV Sub Woofers

Thanks HCVP The sony's are 300watt 3 ways (coaxial). Probably not the best way to get great sound, but it made a huge difference to the originals and they fitted in the original spot in the doors. Your right about the 40 bucs for the OEM ones though, that’s why I called them twice to confirm...

    SSV Sub Woofers

Hi all, Recently replaced all door speakers in my VE SS with 3 way Sony's, and have now been looking for some 8" free air subs to install in the rear parcel shelf in the OEM holes where the SSV subs are installed. I'm not into huge noise or sound offs so don’t want spend huge money, and...

Replace SS factory headunit with aftermarket system

Just goijg off what happened to me! The unit did actually work but had heaps of electronic intermittent problems, once changed again they were gone. Wish you all the best with yours and hope it's fine. Out of interest what'd cost to get it programmed and who did it?

Replace SS factory headunit with aftermarket system

yeh, they do need flashing, but the Blaupunkt people said even then it needs to be the right unit for the vehicle, you cant just put any old unit in there. At least that's what they said.

Replace SS factory headunit with aftermarket system

Be careful changing head units from VE to VE, I’ve had heaps of issues with my ss which I’ve had from new since 2006, the head unit has been replaced under warranty on 3 occasions and on the last occasion as soon as I drove out of the work shop had heaps of different issues, anyway after Holden...

connecting amp to ve original radio

Hi holdenboy, just another (potentialy dumb) question, do i need to run a cross over when running a sub? cheers

connecting amp to ve original radio

Gday aurora, To get behind the centre console, you first pull the “full length” plastic panel along the console down and out at the same time, then you pull the second plastic panel adjacent the head unit down and out. If you want to get the head unit out you first grab the bottom of the...

Ahh thats tops mate, thanks heaps for that, you've been a big help. Can't wait to get cracking on it. cheers

connecting amp to ve original radio

Gday Holdenboy, thanks heaps, that's a huge help, but to clarify are you saying to run the font speakers and the sub through the amp, but the rear speakers just through the head unit. otherwise woudn't you need a total of 6 channls, i.e 2 fronts, 2 rears and the sub cheera mate

connecting amp to ve original radio

Hi All, Newbie here to the forum and sorta new to modifying car audio, been reading for a while and have seen some great posts. Sorry to hijack the post but it seemed like a good post to pop this in. Had a VE SS for 3 years now and finally got sick of the stock sound. I’m not an audiophile...
