    thanks mate, $700 does sound a bit steep, but it all depends on the condition (dents, chips) and if there are paint defects (flakeing, crazing etc) and type of paint (pearl, metallic, solid). for $700 sounds like bare-metaling might be involved, what area in melbourne are you in?

    as long as you dont apply heavy coats of any product that has a substantial amount of thinners in it you should be ok. i wouldn't worry about it having too much material either, it sounds like it'll be ok

    and it's only not normal to apply a clearcoat if its a direct gloss colour.

    if it's started its probably already too late. but if other parts are looking they they might me next maybe a bit of wax might help.

    400 might be a bit course, especially a new peice. maybe use 600 or 800. the scratches will be easier to fill without comprimising adhesion. but everything else is spot on
