Hey well not sure what your budget is but in all honest the 5L sounds tough as with good exhaust, if you want lumpy the cam will do it, but yes kinda not really value for money. Heaps of power, well that depends on your idea, you should rebuild and do a stroker maybe it costs you 10K or more...

Looks sweet, where did you buy this from? Dealer or private? Sounds like the original owner dropped a bit of coin on it. Have any things like ABS/alternator/PS pump/water pump been replaced? Bushing nice and tight? After about 100K on my clubby things started going 1 by one LOL

Are you asking where to source the parts or who will do the mechanical work? I think you are best to get a wrecked car and give both cars to the shop and pay $1000 to get them to swap it

Hi, I am not sure, I doubt that you need to rebuilt yours, many are changovers and no drama, something like the BCM or cluster would require programming but the trans i doubt it!

Turned out it was the plantery gear, they rebuilt it with a 2800RPM stall, it uses about 15L per 100KM so its more thirsty. Still need someone to tuned the transmission points properly.

I really don't think they are needed unless your car is revving fairly high most of the time

My VT clunks a lot (its solid coupling) even new trans, new diff, hardly any backlash, new mounts and new suspension its the same. I want to swap out my tailshaft and diff piece for the rubber VY unit or whatever it is, that makes it less apparent. Not sure why holden makes this rubbish

I was also thinking about this, in the end for $80 i got the narva brighter/clearer vision globes. They are much better, also got the headlight aimed at a panel shop (used the bosch machine) and every now people flash me LOL, that wasn't my highbeam HERES MY HIGH BEAM MOFO!

Why did they bring out the hydratrack? I thought the idea was that it uses vicous means to turn the wheel it would not wear out and be better as its standard in the GTS?

I think the next step would be a tune, over the radiotor intake with K and N filter. Maybe some different diff gears. If its an auto get a high stall. Its never enough, i want to replace my cam but even then i know i'll want more

If its a reco engine and its noisy then take it back. If its a 2nd hand motor then i guess its time to try another one

Do all whipples make that whining sorta noise? I see all the 6.2L VEs with whipples on them sound very whining when putting your foot in!

I tend to agree the LS1 is a good motor but its not really mind blowing, i think something around 300-400RWKW is what you want.

Poke your finger in the spark plug lead end. LOL Maybe just disconnect 1 by 1 you will hear the car running differently when you unplug it if its good. I know if the leads break down over time, the car may hesitate etc under load

It sounds like your thermostat may need replacing, the temp should stay very stable
