the original a/c fan is far too big. some people have used a small electric fan i think about 8inches wide or so

Right now I'm so happy. All the headaches in the build seem so distance now, I drove my turbo wagon for the first time. First time driving a VL turbo and I love it. As it sits now Fitted the exhaust up as well, sounds really nice.

Got the engine out earlier tonight. Only took about 2 and a half hours with a lot of stuffing around cutting the exhaust that had been welded up previously. Disregard all the auto oil and coolant. Up early again tomorrow to prep the new engine and hopefully have it running sometime...

Alright guys, not much has happened since the last update, just been saving hard. And it paid off, picked up this yesterday. Standard a8 with an mx7 behind it, pedals, ecu and tailshaft. Aiming to have it in and running by the end of November.

Got the underlay down Not 100% happy with the carpet, few little stains that hopefully I can touch up. Carpet is back in and also fitted the rear seat, left the hex bits at work so couldn't put the front seats in today.

Let the rustkill dry and sprayed fish oil over that. Will start fitting the underlay and carpet tommorrow. Then I can re -assemble the interior. Just wanna drive it :(

So if I get a manual t5 ecu and follow your wiring guide ill be right? Theres no differnece between the plugs on auto to manual looms? And just leave all the auto stuff unplugged?

I'll be converting a series 2 v6 vr. I'm competent with all the mechanical stuff just after reading through he thread I'm still insure if the auto loom and ecu can be retained. I know the ecu will have to be remapped. Would I be able to retain the Auto loom but use a manual ecu for a t5?
