    VR V8 overheating

Hi mate, I would diffenantly pull the radaitor out and have it stripped and cleaned. I lost track of how many radiators we've had checked that where not leaking, looked fine but where 50-70% blocked. Usually cost about $150. That doesn't include pulling it out etc.

    Off idle stumble.

It will most likely be you PCV hose going into the throttle body. They split and crack causing engine to register lean mixture.

Newbie: Cam / ECU / head porting quote - reasonable price?

One thing to consider when going after market computer is yes you can get it tuned to suit cam, temperature, etc on the day of tuning, but as the weather gets colder or hotter your car will need a lot more fine tuning. This is unavoidable. So this will be and on going expence for a while. If you...

    Help on diff gears

I have a VXclubsport 6 speed. Standard diff gears in my car are 3.73. Fuel economy is not and issue. Best I've seen it do before I did cam etc was 8.5ltrs/100km. This was filling up at BP and doing the Cruise for Charity last year on the drive to Bundoora. After the hole trip to Heatcote...

    l98 running gear. + transplant into a 300zx Z32 - part list.

Jason from Street Force in WA put LS1 6 speed into 300ZX with a sidemount turbo. The sump was his biggest issue from memory. He never said anything about modifying tunnel. His 300ZX was factory turbo so I don't know if tunnels where bigger.

Edelbrock Pro Flow XT Manifold on VX Clubsport

Just had car dyno'd yesterday at AVO to compare dyno readings. Car made 250kws at 5560rpm, 833Nm at 4500rpm. 25kws down from another dyno but it doesn't both me as its awesome to drive with really great throttle response, wicked mid range and top end. Both Jake and Justin where happy considering...

    [LS1] Ls1 Oil leak

Check your oil pressure switch at the back of the manifold. Oil comes up through the swicth, out the plug and runs down side of the motor making it look like a rear main seal. This is one posibillity. I have replaced switch on mine before.

Edelbrock Pro Flow XT Manifold on VX Clubsport

For everthing under the bonnet is around $2150 plus fitting. When first bolted it on, it lost throttle response and low down torque but still drove fine. Mid range and top end felt good. Now I have preformed some fuel adjustments it feels f'n awesome. Manifold lean out fuel mixtures on light to...

Any one have a single turbo LS1 and what kit are you using?

Cool because I was going to talk to them tomorrow about a kit as they have them advertised on special. This is the kind of feed back I was looking for. Cheers

Any one have a single turbo LS1 and what kit are you using?

Interest in who is using what LS1 single turbo kit and have you had any manufacturing faults like cracking exhaust manifolds, turbo failures, etc? What power figures have you made, with what modifications eg injectors, cam, throttle body, exhaust etc.

Edelbrock Pro Flow XT Manifold on VX Clubsport

There actually call edelbrock coil covers. Coils are removed from standard rocker covers and bolt to underneath of the edelbrock covers you see. Gives the motor a cleaner big block look. The drivers cover needed to be modified around brake booster to give it clearance so not to hit.

Edelbrock Pro Flow XT Manifold on VX Clubsport

Scoop was $450 fitted. Bonnet was blue seconhand item and this cost $550 for painting etc and I gave him a slab of jack just for doing it straight away. Bonnet was off our other crashed clubby we brought as a doner car for another project. So it adds up pretty quick.

Edelbrock Pro Flow XT Manifold on VX Clubsport

Scoop was made and fitted to bonnet by Alfa Motorsport. Great guys to deal with. I dummy fitted edelbrock manifold, etc, fitted another secondhand bonnet and cut hole in bonnet to make sure it would all fit then put it all back together, as I said car is daily driver. I then sent bonnet to Alfa...

[LS1] My tune results, a bit of handy info for you all.

I brought this same otr and had to modify it to make it fit. Was fairly pissed considering it's meant to bolt on. The rubber they supply to go from the otr to throttle body is useless. It doesn't clamp and seal properly. I ended up cutting the end off otr and urethaned 4" stainless pipe into it...

That's a work of art. Love the stealth black look and the turbos perch up saying look at me. Really gives it a jap performance look. Are there any better springs than Kingspring ?

I agree with Surfwagon. Good chance your shocker might be bottoming out due to your lower springs, this will give you a harsh ride.

    Commodore thermostat. Whats wrong now?

Hi mate, you should pressue test your cooling system and reinspect for visual leaks. Another place V6's can leak from and can not show any visual leaks is inlet manifold gaskets. If your car has done over 220000kms good chance they are leaking. It might also have a cracked head or heads. Check...

Edelbrock Pro Flow XT Manifold on VX Clubsport

Thanks Soop, will post some figures after I get it dyno'd. I've alway's liked things a bit different and appreciate pretty much any quality job done properly. VH 253 motor help

Does your car run a factory quady? If so it should have a 12 volt idle solenoid on the passenger side. This solenoid is used to set idle speed, not the screw located lower on the throttle plate. When the ignition is turned on 12 volts activates this solenoid to through out. You have to move the...
