    engine probs

Before starting the engine light should turn on then off to tell that there are no errors in the ECU. If the engine light is on while running then you have an error. The error could be anything from a bad o2 to tps you need to short some of the pins in the diagnostic port or a tech1 style cable...

VN Upgrades - What and Why...

if you want power get a custom grind cam made from wade without geting an aftermarket ecu, heavy duty valve springs, extractors, shiftkit, LSD with higher diff gears, stall convertor to match the cam and diff gears (approx 2500rpm stall), larger throttle (65mm from the V8) improves throttle...

    Spark Plugs

NGK Iridium are mainly for cars which have hard to access spark plugs (ie plugs facing to the firewall and a intank over them) and they don't need to be changed as often as the normal plugs (60-100k for iridium and 10-20k normal). Just stick to normal plugs as there are no real increase in...

    Compressing springs

Browns springworks in thomastown might compress springs for you. Not sure about the price. A few of my friends have there springs compressed using ultra low's but I haven't done it personally. With compressed springs the springs would have no major effect if done properly return back to its...

    Info for auto transmission cooler

The genuine GM tranmission cooler uses the same as B&M core. It aids mantain shifting quality as if the tranny is cold and it would prolong the life of the box. I have fitted a genuine tranmissoin cooler and it's bolt on modificaton and it's worth every single cent. Cheers

    Rego and Insurance..

Road Tax would be around $520-530 in geelong as it's cheaper then cars from Melbourne as it doesn't matter the type of car it is as they priced it by area. As for insurance third part fire and theft would be under $400. Just car and AAMI has a quote system on there website.

    Petrol Filter

First is to remove the fuel pump fuse and start the car until the car stalls to remove excess fuel in the lines. Then just unbolt the fuel clamps and take the filter out.

How many k's from brake pads?

It all depends on the drive style and what rotors and pads you have to get that much wear. I've had ultimates with slotted/xdrill rotors (GM disc with aftermarket machining) did under 50-60k on the disc and the pads about 40k on ultimates and 20k on QFM with the VT setup. My brother car has...

    Sticky Throttle ???

It could be the throttle spring. open and close the throttle and see if it returns quickly or slow. Also you have the cruise control on when you do the kickdown? Another way is to disconect the cruise control module cable and see if the throttle stick when you drive. Cheers

    V6 & V8 boosters - are they same?

They are different. The V8 is double diaphram where the car would have some braking power with a cam (where there is nearly no vacuum at idle). The V6 has a single diaphram which is no real different for a stock engine. But if the car has a cam with the single diaphram the brake pedal is spongy...

    Which Pads???

I'm running greenstuff with DBA x-drill slot rotor all round with the VT front setup for over 6 months. Definatly better then the ultimate pads in dust and braking and slightly lower rotor wear (got brake fade after 4 hard braking, greenstuff none so far). QFM is good pad where it doesn't...

    Kmac strut mounts

The main reason is that the wheel geomertry has been altered to minimise camber which minimise tyre scrubbing on the inner side hence the increase of height. Also a strut brace does fit with the bearing plates. Cheers

    SS inductions or VS cai

It's all upto you to decide which one to buy. They do totally the same purpose. If you have money to spend get the SS induction. If you are on a budget get the VS S/C intake.

    Brakes

VT brakes can be used on the 1' master cylinder which can fit the standard booster on the car. The double diaphram booster would be used if the car has a cam (no vaccum on idle). I've had the VT conversion for 4years and it better then the standard brakes. If you do not have the money get the...

    fuel pump priming problem

The fuel pump is having its last legs. if the pump doen't prime when the ignition is on then your pump is dead. If the car does not idle the pump can not supply enough fuel to the engine.

    adding auto tranmission additives

The tranny cooler is quite good for cars with shiftkits which I found when tow heavy. I found holden cooling kits uses the same cooler as B&M and the pricing is simular. I saw on repco having the pwr cooler and reasonably priced.

    Shock Absorbers

Yes Koni's yellow are worth its money, Koni yellow are fully adjustable while the specials have limited adjustments but does not have the sports valving and damper oil. Shock Absorbers

    NGK Iridium Spark Plugs

With the denso iridiums from toyota I got told they would last for 20000km. They told me that the OEM ones (comes with the factory engines) are the to go for as the last upto 150000km. VN Driving Lights, Help with VN SS Wiring!

VN Driving Lights, Help with VN SS Wiring!

Ideally driving lights should go though a relay. You have to find which connection of the switch power which would be the trigger (86), then a main power (30) can use 15-20amps, (85) would be the ground and (87) would be connected to the driving lights. I give you advise the holden relay in the...
