    VL T-bar PWR button assembly

Can anyone help me to reassemble my PWR button assembly correctly? I pulled it apart ages ago and forgot how everything went back. I put it back together as best as I could figure out, but now the button doesn’t stay in when you push it in (ie no “click”, so it’s always out.

What a waste of a plate

Maybe if he doesn't mind people trying to decide between whether he is a tighta$$ or a dill. It's almost as bad as those people that put "vehicle frequently sideways" stickers on their front wheel drive hatchbacks. I don't know Troy, i'm not one to endorse shelling out money unnecessarily on...

What a waste of a plate

I would have thought HSV would have had the rights to these plates - the TWR part is particularly important as this is frmm where HSV originated (Tom Walkinshaw Racing).

What a waste of a plate

Check this out - a custom VIC plate "TWRHSV"...on a Mitsubishi 380. Hopefully this is just temporary and the guy is just waiting on delivery of a new Senator or something. But why would you put it on a 380 in the meantime??

    Ask the EX-Holden Technician

VS wipers not completing sweep Hi Dr Bob, My brother's (base-model/low series) VS has a problem where if the wipers are turned off mid-sweep they stop wherever on the windscreen they are at the time. The same thing occurs when on intermittent - they only move during the short period between...

Is this possible or am I dreaming? LCD monitor mounting.

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents worth, only just stumbled across this thread now - I haven't seen this much enthusiasm since Phreddy's blue dash project!!! Excellent work, for someone that doesn't have experience in fibreglass fabrication or electronics the results of your efforts are...

Interesting reading for open-minded Holden fans

I yesterday stumbled across a site "trueblueford.com" (which I believe I found via a link in a post on this forum). As a die-hard Commodore fan that is willing to give other manufacturers credit where it is due, I have been intently reading information on this site specific to the AU Falcon...

    Fog Lamps wiring

As for a VY Storm ute, this would be a much easier project as the front bumper has blanks where the foglamps are factory installed on SS, so its just a matter of removing the blanks and slotting the VY SS foglamps straight in (and fitting a new headlamp switch). Also you may find that the...

    Fog Lamps wiring

    1. I am fairly certain the wiring exists behind the bumper - my base-model VT sedan has the loom there ready to plug in foglamps, so I would assume Holden continued to do the same with later models. 2. If you are mounting factory foglamps (for example from the VY Berlina series 2) it may be...

VT series 1 door "check strap"

Pablo, that is an excellent idea - if I have no choice but to stick with the original series 1 strap (slider) I will definitely try that. Thanks for that!

VT series 1 door "check strap"

Yeah I probably can, but I have been itching to replace the check straps with the series 2 version for quite a while, so the fact that it is getting stuck is the catalyst for me to look into this.

VT series 1 door "check strap"

VT series 1 models feature doors that are require excessive effort to open and close due to poor design of the door check strap (the metal strap that holds the door in three different opening positions). VT series 2 onwards have a plastic strap that slides more easily as you open the door...

    Paddle shift / active select

Why would you want to install paddles? I think they are a waste of time - cumbersome to find the A/S button in a hurry and slow to respond to multiple upshifts and downshifts. Also, the placement on the steering wheel makes it hard to use when in winding roads where the wheel is constantly off...

VT A/C Fan won't shut off

There are 2 relays in the fuse box relating to the fan. One of them has a known problem from factory - mine had the same problem and the replacement replay was a grey SIEMENS unit instead of the black BOSCH unit. I think is was the "high fan speed relay". See if that's your problem. Hopefully...

    Difference between FE1.5 and FE2?

Calais (and others) can be delete/no cost optioned with STD suspension if desired. The FE1.5 was introduced for VY Calais series II when Holden decided to give the Calais a sports flavour. The VY Berlina series II was accordingly given some upgrades previously reserved for Calais so that more...

    Question

Isn't "BT-1" the specific code for the police pack (as opposed to non-police government Commodores). No idea what BT-1 stands for. It's probably just an option code like "FE2" - FE isn't short for anything, it's just part of the option code for sports suspension.

    Digital Speedo

My VY series II had it, but in the hidden functions. Turn ignition off, then hold "mode" + "set" down while turning the ignition to the "ON" position and it should come up with a serial/version number. Then keep pressing mode until you see "SPEED".

I am certain I saw a Commodore VE Today

I tend to agree with the opinion about the drivetrain components - have a look at the rear suspension links, that looks quite different to the current setup. As for the flared front guards, I think these are the stock items, I'll have to look at my VZ when I go outside next to know for sure...

ACTUAL VE Pre Launch Spy Shots - Library

I think the car you are mistaking for a hatch simply has the rear 1/4 window taped over to further detract from it's styling to make it difficult to predict what the VE will look like. I spotted an uncamoflaged one on its way to Lang Lang yesterday morning, it only had the "car bra's" on the...

    SV6 top speed

I started this post, so I don't know whether that makes my claim any more believable than anybody else's, but I dont think any of the figures here are tall stories. I have seen 235 on my SV6 auto, with (a little) more still in it. :my:

    Fly-By-Wire Throttle Complaints?

True, as long as you reduce braking pressure (enough to just hold the front wheels steady), I assume? And if so, the low-rev torque availability should allow the rear end to light up fairly spectacularly? I haven't actually tried this yet. :)

    Fly-By-Wire Throttle Complaints?

For VP_LUKE and anyone else who is interested or wishes to add their thoughts: Yes, the VZ Alloytech: * still will not start up with WOT (as with Ecotec) * is rev-limited to a shade over 4000rpm in Park or Neutral (on the auto, not sure about manual) * if you have any throttle opening...

    ATT : SV6 Owners ONLY

I picked up a new SV6 auto 2 weeks ago. I am very impressed, comparing to my previous VY II S. I agree that the motor sounds noisy and harsh as you get high into the rev range, but it does so smoothly with minimal vibration into the cabin (unlike the old ecotec). The auto is an extemely smooth...

VZ dual air horns - standard fitment?

I just picked up my new SV6 last friday and it looks as though as a running change the current VZ's are factory fitted with dual air horns (the snail-shaped ones, not the pump-driven ones). A previous thread on this forum indicates that earlier VZ's had the old disc-type horn. Has anyone else...

    Horns

Just picked up my new SV6 last friday and it looks as though as a running change the current VZ's are factory fitted with dual air horns (the snail-shaped ones, not the pump-driven ones). I was pleasantly surprised the first time I tapped the horn to say good bye to someone.

    ChAnGiNg GeArS In AuTo

Yes I have tried this, I didn't note the exact consumption figure but there wasn't a huge difference. The PWR button changes shift points at partial throttle openings, but it doesn't change the shift point at full throttle, it will rev out to the redline with PWR on or off (sorry Misaprop)...

VT Series 1 Calais Indicator Stalk

    ChAnGiNg GeArS In AuTo

VT_PETE05, Doc Bob is right, the PCM will force an upshift from 1st to 2nd before the rev-limiter, even if you have "1" selected. May be different for VN/VP, but I know for a fact that VR onwards has this (rather annoying) feature. It will, however rev to the limiter in 2nd. Hence, there is...

    V6 Power surge @ 3000RPM....Curious

I have a VY V6 S II auto and have also noticed this surge, I have previously had a VX and a VT which never exhibited this behaviour. The VX engine/drivetrain setup is identical to the VY as far as I know, apart from rubber couplings along the driveshaft for vibration isolation, so I don't know...

    SV6 top speed

Does anyone know what sort of speed a SV6 (auto or manual) is capable of reaching. I recall an early motoring magazine report indicating that they believed it would wind out to almost 240km/h. Is this accurate? The ECOTEC motor seems to struggle past 210km/h, so I was wondering whether the...

    fuel consump. problem

To those experiencing poor fuel economy in this post: What is your temperature gauge showing after a normal drive. Does it rise to a bit under halfway (which is normal)? I had a VR some years back that was giving me 300km to a tank with conservative driving. I also noticed that the engine was...

Guess I don't open the passenger door much

To clarify: The reason the car starts after the doors have been locked with the "lock" button on the remote is because when the metal point on the key makes contact with the metal ring on the ignition barrel, the engine control unit is then given the correct code (via the key) and the...

Can i put VY front seats into my VS

ALL seats since VT have had electric controls (for height and tilt adjustment), the Calais has electric controls for forward-backward movement and backrest adjustment also. So yes, VY seats would certainly have electric controls.
