    Well... I pulled the pin

Keen to read your thoughts after the test drive. From what I’ve read though the hybrid is worth the extra over the base 2.5.

    Well... I pulled the pin

Funny you say that and I can’t believe I’m going to say this, I think the Camry is going to be a far better buyer option than the Commodore. Good engine choices (V6 and Hybrid), Lexus looks, good spec and decent pricing. I even think I could own a Camry SX V6.

    Well... I pulled the pin

Good write up. So what model/spec did you buy (still getting my head around these)? Edit—> looking at the pic I’m guessing it’s the Calais V V6. For the cost of this thing the issues you’ve already identified (rattles etc) are very dissapointing.

Sudden Loss of Power Steering WHEN DRIVING

Here's my thread on the exact same thing 2 weeks ago https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/service-steering-soon.267604/

    VF Commodore "DOC" connector..

There’s bolts across the top and the bottom, as mentioned in the guides around the place, remove the trim piece above the glovebox and the bolts will be visible on top. Bottom one can be accessed as is.

BREMBO PROBLEMS - CONSIDERING LEGAL ACTION

Some discs can be. If aggressive pads are used like the genuine ones the rotors will wear comparatively quickly. Without knowing the OPs driving style it’s hard to judge if 30,000kms is reasonable. 4mm is getting down there though. As to the quote, for info the trade on the front pads alone is...

    Service Steering Soon

Update to this, dropped my car into Holden this morning and it’s a replacement rack for me. Fortunately as my car is now out of warranty it’s being done as goodwill for free.

    Service Steering Soon

Nope, heard the dings from the dash and had zero power assistance, I was going through an 80km/h roundabout too. Steering is damn heavy when it shuts down.

Christ, tonight is just gut-wrenching. They've already built the last ones.

I watched that this morning and came here to post it too.. Was pretty moving and made me angry and sad at the same time. Look at what we’ve all lost.. I even wrote to Elon Musk 18 months ago to suggest he takes over the Holden factory to build Teslas as he did the Toyota factory in...

Yes, mine is still reading 4km/h high at 100km/h after swapping redline wheels on.

    Service Steering Soon

Driving home from work Friday I had the message “Service Steering Soon” and I lost all power assist to the steering, doing 100km/h at the time, threw the car in neutral turned it off and back on and all was good again. Is this the infamous known steering issue with the VFs? Mines out of warranty...

Unfortunately the cause was bigger than just the governments inaction.

Christ, tonight is just gut-wrenching. They've already built the last ones.

It’s a travesty. I’m speechless, feel like I’ve lost something in my life. The many Australian built new car lead ups including media rumours, sneak peeks, media releases etc that I’ve enjoyed through life are no more. How I loved “being involved” in the next new Aussie built car, whether it...

    Brake upgrade for SS

The police brake setup is the larger rotor and larger single pot calipers that was an option from the factory for about $500.

    Brake upgrade for SS

T3 is how I’d go with decent pads. Will look better but I’d be surprised if you see a lot of improvement. My stock brakes were pretty good for street use to be honest, my Brembos were an improvement but really were an aesthetic mod.

Learnt something new today - Handbrake

It’s because pressing the accelerator means you want the car to move, accidentally pushing down the park brake (maybe by a child) does not.

It’s a documented feature but the owners manual recommends you still release it manually.

Another trick with the Tasca website is if you fill your cart and enter your PayPal address, go to PayPal and then close it without confirming the purchase, Tasca will send you a 5% discount voucher to complete the purchase. I found out when I went to PayPal, saw the shipping estimate and...

Quiet Bimodel mufflers on VF1, ... wheres the noise?

Does anyone know exactly what the VF2 BiModal mufflers need to work? What exactly is the specs of the PWM signal they are expecting to cycle open and closed?
