My Vs SS Commodore 95 build

The steering wheel shaking usually means a wheel out of balance, get your front wheels balanced before looking any further. Cheapest and easiest way out

    Brakes make strange sound sometimes?

LMAO pretty sure it was your idea to listen for a vacuum leak in the engine bay while pumping the pedal. I never said anything about pumping the pedal from the engine bay lol Anyway not going to continue with this post any longer. Obviously you don't read the whole thread or understand other...

    Brakes make strange sound sometimes?

Listen for noises from the booster...in the engine bay...while the engine is running? Wouldn't be able to hear anything but the engine running. Brake pad material on the rotors??..WTF? On a brake rotor that is a flat surface, where is this brake pad material going to be? Before you go...

    Brakes make strange sound sometimes?

Has the noise only started since Holden working on it? One quick check is while the car is on the ground, get under the front near the wheel on each side and try and grab the sway bar link pins and wiggle them around to see if they are loose. If too hard, drive the front wheels up onto a couple...

    Brakes make strange sound sometimes?

Could be a wheel bearing on it's way out or worn suspension. Have even found that after working on a car, if you don't do the sway bar link pins tight enough it can cause noise under braking. Have you worked on the front end lately?

    99 Series 1 VT Senator

My Sunday afternoon job was fitting the rear Harrops, no issues involved except for having to trim the lip off the baking plate and bend a couple of tabs out of the way a little, bleed with new fluid all through and away she went. Stop hard now, really noticed the difference when did the fronts...

    99 Series 1 VT Senator

Thanks for the compliment. If you're looking at one, it depends on how many Ks and what options it has, somewhere between 10 & $15,000. When I was looking there was a silver one in QLD for sale, 220i, Harrops, coulson seats and low Ks for about $18,000, 12 months after buying mine it was still...

    99 Series 1 VT Senator

Updated with the good things that have happened, but now an update on the not so good Been noticing for a while the electric fans turning on even when the temp gauge has barely moved if any, thought possible ECU coolant temp sensor problem and could also explain high idle in gear, changed...

    car wont start

Try bending the metal tabs on the barrel out slightly to make sure there is good contact, if that doesn't help try wiggling the shifter a little while trying to start (assuming auto). If wiggling the shifter works refer here...

what do i call my car...?

It's probably a series III VS, there was no 'VT' ute as such it was a VU that came out in series II VT with the gen 3 engines. Same thing as the series III VS Statemans came out with the VT 5L engine in them, then they changed to WH Statesman with the gen 3 engines as well, released with...

Coolant leak - where could it be?

If it's leaking from or onto the block it probably won't drip down because it will evaporate from the engine being hot, which is likely the only time it leaks as the cooling system is under pressure. Stop leak might work but is a bandaid fix and your problems will probably come back two fold...

Coolant leak - where could it be?

The ground to see if left side, right side, front, back of engine?? Coolant in the oil, is oil milky? Are you using green coolant, is there white, chalky marks on engine anywhere near/around water pump or hoses?? Big question you're asking without much information

VT series 1 V8 Hot start issues

Check you cca of battery, had same issue with my VT 5L (195kw) and turned out the battery was only a 450 cca, upgraded to a 680cca and no more starting problems. My starter actually did pack it in and wasn't starting at all, replaced that with a genuine Bosch and still had the hot starting...

Weird noise coming from front wheels (Video)

You might want to check the swaybar links again as well but while the car is on the ground. While the car is jacked up and the wheels in the air the suspension is not in its normal working position, it's easy done to think you have tightened them up enough but until the car is on the ground it's...

Starter doesn't want to crank over

Been there done that with my own vr ss ;) How long have you owned the car?....has it always had starting issues or does it only struggle when engine hot or cold? Make sure you check how many cca the battery is in the first place, when I brought my Senator (with 5L) it had a 450 cca battery that...

Starter doesn't want to crank over

    Vs commodore brake lights

Check the adjustment of the switches. They shouldn't be touching the pedal until the pedal moves to apply the brakes, thus disengaging the cruise, if the switch is being pressed by the brake pedal without the pedal moving the cruise will not engage

VZ power window regulator assembly ( Rivets )

They are rivited from the factory, well my VR and VT were so assuming VZ the same For the replacement I used some bolts I had laying around the shed, 4mm I think they are. You might need to make sure you scratch the paint off under the bolt or nut and washer (depending which way you fit them)...

Thanks mate, yeah I think they gave me nightmares lol The Senator went into aircon shop yesterday, was told problem could be 2 things, seals are leaking where pipes bolt onto compressor ($160-$180) or the compressor itself has shat itself ($600-$700). Because it has been a couple of months...

    Starting Issue
