Battery connections are good. I fixed the key barrel recently so I tightened the battery myself. Its a 1.5 year old battery so its all good. I will check the starter motor wiring. Ok cool will get this checked. I have not checked this but will check it and report back.

I have a Holden Commodore VX2. 2001. I just changed the key barrel. However , the car only starts after 10-15 turns of the key. It makes a clicking noise every time. However it just wont start or crank. After a few attempts it just starts automatically. Any clues ?

I had the same issue. For me turned out to be one lead was bad + Spark plug change.

Should I remove the black cover on the key barrel to fit the immobilizer ? The immobilizer unit wont go on top

Hi guys Just trying to remove the ignition key barrel. Not sure where to press to take the spring out. I have followed the guides but the barrel won't come out. Do I put the leverage above the barrel or above the cover of the barrel?

Nopes no button there. My mate has got a berlina with the button next to the gear. Nothing in my car. Only a power button.

Ok great. I will try this out and report back later today/tomorrow morning. I did have then pin 27 connected to the black/white stripes wire. So whats it worth I cut it and hopefully its ok.

No the light seems to not come on and there is no button. Infact, I have never seen this light on my dashboard. The light never comes on even when I plug in the keys during start. Should I assume that there is no light in Holden Vx executive 2001 ?

Hi I own a VX 2 2001 Commodore. I Followed the guide here - Disable traction control VT - VX - VY Commodore and cut the white/black wire. Shouldn't the trac off light come on - on my dashboard ? Does VX exec have a trac light off warning on dashboard ?

Yes i can take it to the repaid shop but then in the future I would have no clues about cars or Holden in general. I want to be able to do these simple tasks myself. I want to give it my best shot before resorting to a repair shop.
