2010 VE SV6 SIDI Performance upgrades

If you are looking for a bit more power then you can do the following: intake, full exhaust system, mace cams (210 degrees or 226 degrees), tune and higher diff ratio. You will be more than happy with these mods on a v6. But if you are looking for bigger numbers then go straight for a turbo setup.

Hope I didn't speak too soon as I have had the latest tune update for my cams for 4 days only but I think its fixed the problem :) :) :)

Good to hear your car is sorted. Small christmas gift to yourself :) You were just unlucky that you didn't have any vacuum with the bigger cams as my car responds very well with the big cams, no braking issues. I recall you having 3.7 diff gears in your car, is that right? Cause that would help...

    HOLDEN-IQ in Series 1

Find the IQ unit and trims from the wreckers. They usually don't have any use of the trims once you buy the unit. I got mine for $680 all up and I think an extra $350 to program the unit, enable some features and program the hvac for SZ.

    Tuning issue

I have a dyno graph of the afr and its the same as the figure i wrote in my 1st post, 14.7. I also have scanxl pro and it reads 14.7 too. I also confirmed with the guys at the states and they said their car is 14.68 so im pretty sure my torque app on my phone is showing correct figures. Im just...

    Tuning issue

Its a Mace tune. I had the cams in for 2 months without the updated tune and no errors popped up, after the 1st day of the cam tune the P2189 error started showing, I have been deleting the error code almost every day now and I'm looking for any assistance if anyone has resolved this error code...

    Tuning issue

Ive done a lot of logging for my car but the tuners say that they cant find anything wrong in the logs. I have also checked the exhaust system for any leeks but nothing. Not sure what else to do

    Tuning issue

Thank you for the info but as we know that there are only 2 company's worldwide that can tune LY7 engines after 2007 May, Mace and CHE. I have done all the logs and the updated tunes I receive still popup the error code. My question was if anyone has/had the same issue and how it was resolved so...

    Tuning issue

Nope, as said in my post, I have been running with the cams in my car for 2 months without the updated cam tune.

    Tuning issue

Hey everyone, I am having issues with my cam tune and if any knows anything about this type of error code. Here is the story: When the 226/226 profile cams went in 5 months ago, despite the fact that the car was slow, I could drive my car around without any issues and NO error codes popping...

I have had 226 profile cams in my car for over 4 months now and I have had no vacuum issues.

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Nope, this issue started after the cam tune. I found this and I'm trying to do some of the stuff: Possible fault cause - Incorrect main charge signal - Intake air system leaking - Fuel pressure too low - Volume supply of fuel pump too low - Mechanical fault in injection valves - PCV valve...

Hey mate, I have the same issue with the error code, been trying to get it fixed for 2 months now :( Error code is P2189- bank 2 running lean on idle. Car is running beautiful until that error code pops up, then it feels like the engine is choking and the car can hardly move... I went to my...

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

My car showed 167rwkw on the dyno with the 226 profile cams, I just have full exhaust, tune, cai and manifold insulators. I posted they dyno graph and I gained 30rwkw from the cams. I haven't seen anyone elses dyno graphs all these months and I'm the 1st to post a graph with Steve's new cams. My...

You have a fair amount of mods, and good ones too. I'm guessing you can reach the 230-240rwkw mark?

    Gearbox SS/SSV

If you don't sustain the rpm at the redline everytime you drive, most gearboxes can handle a lot of power. Unless your turning your car into a race car then its not necessary to put an aftermarket gearbox.

    VE Omega 06- Timing Chains

The whole kit is around $1200 and fitting should be just 1 day,it took us guys with the mace cams to get them fitted in 1 day, why should it take longer just for the timing kit to get installed.

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

What profile cams did you put in? Glad to hear your car is in your possession again. Can you list what aftermarket parts you used in the rebuild? Or you just used standard holden parts?

    HOLDEN-IQ in Series 1

I thought I had but turns out I don't have the module under the unit. Doesn't matter though, still got my garmin gps :)

    HOLDEN-IQ in Series 1

Yes its in a series 1 ve. I bought it for $680 off a wrecker and sent it to Doubledip to program it for me. I fit it myself, it wasn't hard. One of the best mods I've done. I was going to do the ipad installation but with a few more dollars you can do this and it keeps the holden look.

Has anyone else put any Mace cams in their engine? Would be good to get a bit more feedback on how the cams feel in your car.
  26. S

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Haha nos sounds sweet. When you get the car back let us know what aftermarket parts went in, would be great to see the results. Oh, and maybe make a different thread lol, you have hijacked the mace cam thread hahaha

Are most parts just stock holden parts or did you change to aftermarket pistons, conrods etc...?

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

I would have said to you if i knew you would do the rebuild to just get a 2nd hand 2jz engine (best engine ever made) and put it into the ve, you would be untouchable, literally!!! No one would know what you have under the hood and the outside would look stock :) LOL Got a bit carried away...

Were the cams included in the engine rebuild? Im really interested in seeing the results of your engine with the heads shaved.

Its manual. Yeah, lumpyness is very noticeable. The higher the revs on idle, the better the noise on my car, it was sitting at 650 and i got it to 700rpm now, want to take it up to 770 to see if it sounds better. You will love them when they go in your car. Trust me on this :)

Mace manifold insulators, airhammer intake, full stainless exhaust system, Mace tune, Mace cams 226/226. I'm currently trying to design the bottom of the LLT intake manifold to fit on an alloytec, but I'm also trying to redesign the alloytec intake manifold to flow better, whichever one proves...

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Depends where you go. A few months ago I was asking around to put one in my car, but then I thought I don't need it for now. If I remember correctly the guys asked for around $3000 for the ecu, wires, sensors and fitting. Personally, its good to consider something like this if you want full...

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Someone has to do all the wiring for you, so many wires and sensors :D Yeah, as I said it gives you full control over the cars electrics, you can do anything that the cars abilities allow you to.
  36. S

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

A lot of people that I know use the haltech 2000 series ecu. You get full control over the cars electrics. Pro flow fabrications in Chelsea use it a lot on the turbo setups. But If your not looking to do serious stuff to your engine then I guess you won't need something that advanced ;)

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Currently designing how to modify my IM so it can flow better without any restrictions. Similar to the cpr6 but less cheaper, in the $500 zone :) I got an LLT IM too, just trying to design the bottom of that so I can try bolting it onto an alloytec engine, that will be a big improvement to the...

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Well you can reach 200rwkw easy :) So you have nothing to fear :P If it makes you feel better, I need to find 30extra kw's from N/A parts to get to 200rwkw :P lol

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Sorry mate, I'm in Melbourne. You can get a mail tune by Mace Engineering if you can be bothered to do data logging. Otherwise I'm sure you will find a dyno place in Brissy. Are you going to use the stock ecu?

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

Damn, i thought the new LFX would be like the one on the camaro v6 with 241kw. But still 210kw is great, you'll be enjoying the car more when the cams go in.
