Swapped head unit now got brake warning???

It doesn't have a disk drive but I can play videos on it, don't watch anything on it though. I believe so. Just used the same wire from the previous head unit.

Swapped head unit now got brake warning???

It's the symbol that shows up when the handrabke is up but says brake on the display. It was going nuts earlier. I've disconnected the wire from the head unit to the handbrake for now to see if it persists.

Swapped head unit now got brake warning???

hi all, Just swapped out a pioneer headunit for an atoto and now for some odd reason I get a brake warning on the dash and it makes that annoying sound after around 10-15mins of driving. Nothing seems wrong with the brakes and I've only touched the wires for the head unit so what is going on??

    Alternator going out?

Just ran a thread taper through in case, got the new one in. On initial startup it was reading between 14.5-14.8v. Took it for a drive and tested again and it was in the low 14v range. I will have to test it again tomorrow. Battery itself reads around 13.5v when the car is off.

    Alternator going out?

Got a new alternator in but am having a little trouble getting 2 of the 3 bolts in. The 2 outer bolts for the bracket only go in about 1cm before I can't tighten them by hand anymore (even without the alternator in). Can get the middle bolt in fine, tried the middle bolt in the outer threads too...

    Alternator going out?

Car has 48K on it. Thanks for all the replies, may as well change it out for a new one since it's a pain to get it out especially now that I've got a snail on the side. Hoping it fixes the issue. Also, gave the prevoius battery to my dad and he somehow got it back into the green although we...

    Alternator going out?

Yeah. I'm now thinking that too. I pulled the negative terminal off the battery while the car was running and it didn't stall so yeah I dunno.

    Alternator going out?

    Ripshift and reverse...

Hi all, So I've had a Ripshift in my Monaro for a few years now and getting it into reverse has always been a pain. I takes more effort than it should and is always notchy, there are times where I really have to force it or even try a 2nd time. Are they meant to be like this or is there an...

    Replacing the ac condenser

Hi all, Recently had to replace the radiator and when mounting the condenser back in I punctured it. Will I be right reusing the drier? Also what o-rings do I need to replace and how many, just the 2 for the drier? It's been a few weeks now since I've punctured it, is it bad that I've left it...

    Different shades

Nope, never been resprayed. Car has stayed within the family since 2003 and was covered and put away into a shed for almost half of it's life. I'm going to get it resprayed at some point though.

    Different shades

Hi all, Got a yellow Monaro and have never been pleased with the paint, mainly because it has 2-3 different shades. I ordered some touch up paint and it's darker than the body but matches the door handles and I've noticed the boot is slightly darker than the rest of the car as well. I had a...

    Noisy suspension....

Hi guys, I had installed coilovers on my Monaro a few years ago and it made sorta like popping noises over small bumps and turning at low speeds. Then when I had the car in for some insurance work where the car pretty much just sat for 2 weeks then noises were gone and now have seem to come...

mod or change front struts to fit 245/40/19 vf ss rims

Nah, not talking about those kind of spacers. The kind you're talking about are rings for rims to suit different center bore sizes. Slip on or bolt on spacers will make the wheel come out more to clear the struts or brakes. I had to use 8mm slip on's and extended studs to make my wheels clear 6...

LED number plate lights giving warning...

Hi all, Decided to upgrade some lights on the car, threw LED bulbs in the number plate area and that sets off the warning in the dash that's annoying af. I might want to upgrade the bulbs for the tail lights too but no way if I get that warning everytime I start the car. Is there a simple fix...

You could run some small slip on spacers and get 'special' wheel nuts to fit VE/VF wheels to any previous model.

    Transmission fluid change.

Got it done today. Fluid was a little dark but I couldn't be arsed to do it again. Was that 4.4L altogether? I pumped about 4l into the fill port and another 400ml into the reverse sensor.

    Transmission fluid change.

Thanks for that mate. Think I should do a flush with cheap stuff before throwing the Penrite in or would it be alright to just drain the current stuff then refill with the Penrite? I thought about grabbing one of those at supercheap earlier, got the little nozzle attachment pump instead. Looks...

    Transmission fluid change.

Hi guys, Thinking about doing a fluid change for the transmission since changing gears has become a bit of a chore. Seen a few posts saying the T56 takes about 4.4L and some say to take the reverse sensor out and add about another 400ml. Where and what does this sensor look like? Should I also...

Rought quotes on bonnet scoop fitment and paint

Hi guys, What are your rough guesses on getting a a hole cut out in a boonet, have a reverse cowl fitted and molded then bonnet painted? Local guy said $1600 but my old man rung a place in sydney that said it would be less than $1000.

    Loose clutch pedal

Hi, Recently noticed that my clutch pedal has a lot of side to side play, had a look up underneath the dash and couldn't really find anything to adjust it. Replacing front studs

Got myself those inhex sockets and a ratcheting breaker. Lol there was no way those bolts were gonna crack loose with just an allen key and my hand. The ratcheting breaker bar I got made it so much easier to undo them. Anyways I got the hubs out and swapped the studs but needed to cut about...

Trouble with rear sway bar install
