I think I had those once but they fell off too. Might need an exhaust shop to try and get it to fit properly and put those clips back on.

Didn't update this thread but swapped out the O2's and fixed my fuel issue. Looking good now. Also noticed exhaust fell off the hangers again (hangers completely gone) so managed to get some hangers from repco today for $5ish each and chucked it back on, also cut up some spare fuel hose...

After test drive last night, then driving to work and back home today in the usual traffic, fuel economy is sitting at about 13.4L / 100km, happy enough with that, that's about how much I think it should be using for city driving.

Swapped over both pre cat o2 sensors, bit of a pain as they are right at the end of the headers, not necessarily hard to reach but just not much room under there to work. I don't know what old O2 sensors are really meant to look like, but I think they are meant to look a bit like old spark...

fuel tank on the ute is basically right behind the seats so wasn't touched in the repair, don't think there's any leaks or anything but something i'll have to look into if I can't work out the issue.

Have had a look at what data I can pull out of torque, looks like I can get quite a bit. Not sure exactly how to read this but I can map fuel trim and rpm over time and looks like it's adding in a lot of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is normal or excessive. I can also log cat temps, afr, o2...

One other possible factor I can't remember if I mentioned already or not, but while car was at the smash repairer it had a whole new exhaust fitted under insurance, new headers, cats, cat back etc. full system. I vaguely remember reading something about coatings in a new exhaust or new headers...

not sure how old those plugs were, might have been swapped when it first got tuned but I can't recall, I don't think they would have put those plugs in though. it's possibly they are the original plugs as engine only has 120k on it. will have to go through some old paperwork see if it's been...

unfortunately don't have a scanning tool, I do have an OBD2 bluetooth dongle but not sure it would give the necessary data.

The old plugs didn't look too bad as far as I can tell, will chuck a pic below. Can't remember how old they were but they looked about ready to change. I'll check out the wheels and brakes as suggested above and check back through my records to see if i've ever had the injectors serviced or not...

Thanks for the idea, not really sure how to test that. Maybe jack it up and check how freely they spin? Not making any weird noises and feels normal to drive. I changed rear pads and rotors about a year ago and haven't changed the fronts in a while but they probably need done soon.

Done both of those already and didn't make much difference unfortunately.

I would book it in at the workshop I usually take it to but they're booked out and busy till basically March/April so not sure if I should try and take it elsewhere or keep trying to work it out myself.

I've had this car for nearly 8 years and been on the same tune for about last 7 years, previous I used to get between 14-16L/100km and on the highway less than 10 so that's why I'm trying to work out why it's gotten so much worse all of a sudden.

turns out the computer is basically spot on. did 278.1 km and filled up this morning with 54.56L that works out to be 19.61L/100km and the computer says it's 19.6 seems to be very thirsty and not sure why :(

yea definitely agree, around town for me depends on how many idiots crash on the road in the morning, I can either cruise the majority of the way to work at decent pace, 50-60kph, or be stuck in stop start for 20 mins barely progressing 1km down the road.

Last trip to Bunbury I did for work got about 9.8-9.9L/100km based on the trip computer, but now I'm starting to doubt anything the trip computer has told me.

Will give that a try. Filled up a full tank tonight as it was cheap and the tank was almost empty, only took 55L despite distance to empty being about 10km. I think it's a 70L tank, so seems the computer might not actually be so trustworthy. I'll try as you suggested over the next week or two...

well said. for me that would be something like an old mx-5 or an s15 or something small and light with an ls3 swap, but you can't buy that, you have to build it, bit of a long term goal for me :D

While everything is touch screen, there's still also 25 buttons on the wheel too, as I was only driving it temporarily I couldn't work out what half of them did and was just too much for me.
