    Nissan's V8 Supercar revealed

its not the same situation as the Group A days this is pretty much exactly the same car as the others with Nissan panels and engine. Its all so tightly controlled there wont be much difference.

Walking is ridiculous its a race in which you're intentionally not allowed to move in a fast manner. Its just stupid.

Difference between a Vx ss and Vx Clubby

yeah but you had to get an R8 to get the brakes anyway. Its not even like you buy any HSV and your guaranteed big brakes.

Driving economically with a manual VE

I cruise at 60km/h on a flat surface in 5th gear in my t56. It doesnt feel laboured at all, if its in 4th it feels like the revs are higher than they need to be

Difference between a Vx ss and Vx Clubby

yeah i do get why people like HSVs. I just mean from a purely performance standpoint
  10. R

Difference between a Vx ss and Vx Clubby

Exactly right, pound for pound performance once you start modifying, the SS wins everytime.
  11. R

Difference between a Vx ss and Vx Clubby

exactly right, going from a VY SS to a VY clubsport is not a massive change. It's basically the same car underneath all the HSV tinsel and dressing. So I dont know what FATMOE was on about with him thinking that his Clubsport is a million times better than the SS he had previously, especially...

5 speed v6 VT Doesn't pull very hard?

Not exactly. A simple exhaust and a re tune of the engine management will not only make more power but will improve fuel economy in most cases becuase of the generally rich factory mixtures. At the very least it will stay the same. Doing those things will make the car a bit quicker and nicer to...

    Alloytec and SIDI Cam Development

easier access yes, but you need to change four cams in two heads rather than just one in the valley.

    L67 or v8?

definately right, i just assumed you were one of those people thats like mega attached to their car and wont just sell the thing to buy something better. Depends on what your looking for from the end result really :)

    VE Sv6 Times

^^thats awesome again though you gotta look at the drivers skill, amount of runs, and it was probably done a drag strip surface

    L67 or v8?

its true if your looking for speed and your gonna engine swap you want an LS1. But if your more just doing it for the challenge and experience of doing the swap and modding it all that jazz you were talking about then go the L67 if you think youll enjoy it more I must state for the record...

    VE Sv6 Times

VEs do times in the mid 7's depending on transmission, driver and conditions, apparently testing has seen some do times as low as 6.5 but i think thatd be hard to achieve.

My VY Sv8 Man 260Rwkw OTR 20s Sunroof

the indicated power output will be higher because of the shorter diff gears. It changes the ratio, like doing a dyno run in third gear EDIT: my bad i missed that the car was manual. An auto with 3.45 would be much shorter than standard
  19. R

    l67 or ls1?

ls1 is a completely different class of engine in every way, go the v8

    Mods

exactly, this is basic automotive theory its not even Commodore specific search the internet and this forum for information on how an engine works and what people do to make them work better and you'll have all the answers you need. Just asking a blanket question like that is a waste of time and...

    Mods

mate if you need to ask as basic a question as what to do to an automobile to make it go faster than you probably shouldnt be modifying a car just yet. search the internet and read as much as you can

    Raising VX SS.

mate maybe your car is already lowered, you shouldnt be scraping on bumps and speed humps with a standard ride height. Standard is really high theres no way you could bottom out on anything unless your going WAY too fast And i know coz i have a VX SS with the standard ride height.

    Purchasing a VX SS

I just got mine, one owner, six speed VXII SS. Bought it off my neighbour stock as a rock for $15,000 with 70k on the clock. He was offered $16,500 but he'd already promised it to me. Whoever said that commodores in Victoria are more expensive is dead right, I hated looking on carsales...

    Cheap/Free Mods for VX Commodores

haha fair point my friend! But you gotta admit most people with Chev badges are running the standard LS series of engine that all other factory holdens are running and they are nearly exclusively late model variants not early ones so you see my frustration.

    Cheap/Free Mods for VX Commodores

Okay for starters, the alloy v8s in commodores arent chevy engines theyre a GM engine found in many brands of General Motors and by your logic you should put a Buick badge on your v6 coz that engine isnt made or designed by Holden Chevy badges are lame, no ones driving a chevy, its a holden...

    LS1 Manifold

Yeah agreed 90+mm on an NA LS1 is way too big even if the engine had some serious headwork done.

What should i do? (v8 conversion)

if you decide to engine swap go with either the L98 6L or the LS2 6.2 both are better engines than the L76. But just buying another car with the engine you want is the best choice.
