Question about flexable exhaust insert near cats ??

Says you are a mechanical engineer mate, shouldn't you know the answer to this? I'm no mechanic, or engineer, but I would guess that the flex-pipe is there to reduce the stress/vibrations on the pipe when the engine is under load.

iPod/iPhone factory integration kit from JHP?!

Dyno'd car, SS very underpowered compared to Holden's 270kw claims

Use the search button mate :) been covered plenty of times Firstly a chassis dyno is primarily a tuning tool, and figures are very variable depending on dyno, operator etc Secondly, the percent of drivetrain loss is actually around ~20% on a manual VE SS, with ~215rwkw being the most common...

    Type r integra

Both have around the same stock 1/4 mile times, so assuming by beat you mean "down a drag strip" and not on the street I think it would be pretty even, come down to driver, whether cars are auto/manual etc

Basic mods.. what power are you getting.. Exhaust OTR Tune

Table is a bit pointless in my opinon, interesting sure, but too many variables, as shown by the fact the manual made a heap less than the two autos, to compare if there are any actual differences between year models it would have to be same dyno, same day, same mods

Basic mods.. what power are you getting.. Exhaust OTR Tune

Sounds like exactly what I would have expected for those mod's

VE Lowering from Standard, Springs & Shocks

VE SSV ute - Kings SSL front & rear progressive rate springs with matching Monroe GT sport struts/shocks and kings bumpstops-only cost me 600 all up Can't fault the set up, nice 'n' low, handles great around the twisty stuff, still takes a lot of weight in the tray, and the ride isn't too...

[SA] Motorists to now receive fines for all defects

Just as a matter of interest, im sure you are correct, but what is unroadworthy about the police VE vehicles?

How much power with stock brakes?

I will say again...there is NO way you would get 370kw at the fly, which is roughly 300rwkw assuming about 20% drivetrain loss, with only an OTR, exhaust and tune...with a cam of course you can!!! if you have dyno papers, congrats...put them up so we can see what workshop has been fudging...

How much power with stock brakes?

Even if you mean 370kw at the fly, there is no way an OTR, full exhaust (inc headers and cats) and a tune would make that much power. You would be looking at on average around 260rwkw with an M6 so about 320kw at the fly, which will be fine with stock brakes for everyday purposes. If you are...

    VE SS - Suspension Lowering

If you mean changing the springs there are numerous topics on this forum covering that topic. Basically just buy new progressive rate springs like King Springs SL, SSL, or SSSL, and if lowering by a decent amount get new struts/shocks like monroe GT sport. Lots of FAQ's are available on the...

    trap speed feature

Im no legal boffin at all but in terms of the radar being a scientific instrument and the operator using it properly, shouldn't proper handling extend to the it being used for the purpose for which the device is intended? Which is the determination of the speed of the vehicle it is fitted to and...

    X force 3" exhaust

If you just go the cat-back I cant imagine you will have any problems. I have a Twin 3" xforce cat-back and its honestly not that loud, whether illegal or not im not sure, but my friends ricers are all WAY louder, even at idle.

    VE SS Twin turbo

Sonny from Marrano's in NSW has about 8 different twin turbo VE's on there youtube page that they have worked on and tuned. Might be good to have at look at their website ;) Have heard good things about Hi-Torque on the gold coast too for something that is a lot closer to you. What kinda kit...

Sidi v6 vs R33 skyline turbo

INCORRECT, i would like you to show me a stock R33 gts-t that has 180rwkw. They are 187kw at the flywheel. I had a mildly modified R33 gtst, full exhaust, intake, better fuel pump, boost controller etc etc running 10psi and I had about 170rwkw I've never had an VE sv6 but my SS would romp my old...

    Exhaust confusion

I have a twin 3" Xforce catback on my ute, fitted great, sounds awesome, no drone and only cost me about $800 new. Perhaps the Xforces you gave have heard that sound bad have been either poorly fitted, haven't carbon'd up yet, or maybe even the mild steel sounds a bit better than the stainless...
