    [LS1] MAF tune

Agreed, extra sensor worth having to fine tune the abilities. I have a VY but fitted with the larger VZ MAF and even the tuner was surprised with the results.

    Someone gave me this OTR...

that looks like one of the MAF'less only OTR's. As Kiddo mentioned, good luck finding the matching filter, I'd give it a crack though they're a worth mod.

will 255 50 17 fit on my Vy

I had 255/35R18s on the back for a while, the only scrubbing I got was on the passenger side rear muffler heat shield, it protrudes about 1/2" at the rear inside arch, nothing some bending didn't fix. The main problem I had though was that fitted to a lowered vehicle the camber is already maxed...

    Bump stop mod

I used ScanXL to check, recorded TPS as 90% did some grinding got it to 100% Can't tell you the diff from just that one mod as I ported and polished the throttle body at the same time. Combined though was a noticed improvement, very responsive and "feels" like a few more ponies could just be...

    Pac swi-ps

Late but for others info... the steering wheel controls run off one wire with each button having a certain resistor on it. resistance x = vol+, resistance y = vol-, etc. So set your multimeter on ohms and with it hooked up to earth and the wire you want to test just press a button on the wheel...

Noise from alternator and through speakers

I had the same alternator whine for some time which sent me loopy! I ended up rewiring the whole system; not sure which one specifically solved it but here are the things I changed: - Moved amp earths from seat back sheet metal to the seatbelt bolts - the "Big 3 Upgrade" (YouTube it) - moved...

Pretty sure it should have made more H.P

Yeah definitely more... as mo1st said, an average cam should net around the 350 mark. My VY SS is putting down 339rwhp with just bolt-ons, no cam.

    Problem with VY acceleration??

Mine was doing the same a couple of weeks ago. plugs and leads had only been done like 10K prior. Turned out the O2's were faulty, sending bad signals and dumping in too much fuel, but got normal power when stomping the loud peddle as O2 signal isn't used in those high rev instances.

Whats Stronger Box Auto Or Manual?

Considering that the T-56 is also used in the (3rd gen) Dodge Viper, I'd be inclined to think that it is more than capable of handling a bit of Holden V8 grunt

Proud Lion - VY II SS

Installed the new stereo audio/video setup last weekend :D waiting on a couple little connectiviy parts to complete the install (like powered video splitter and SWI-X module for steering control); once I've got it fully sorted will post some more pics.

    removal of front strut bolt!!

Pretty sure it was a 24; whatever your standard tool sets go up to, it was the next one up from the biggest size in those kits... grrrr! If not 24, then 22; either way hope you got a rattle gun for it! it can be a real b!tch to do with just a ratchet.

    vy ss kw's

fo shiz Rossi, next year when it cools down a bit we'll do another run to Willowbank and we'll pit up against each other ay! As for the topic contribution; original owner had it dyno'd a few years back with just exhaust (tri-y, twin 2 1/2in x-flow, 400cell cats) and tune at 233rwkw. Since...

Proud Lion - VY II SS

@madvnss, ebay mate, the di-noc stuff is the good stuff for outdoors use. @Hillzzy, definitely need to pay attention to the road more ay. it's a bit of tit-for-tat really; a lot firmer ride to the FE2, you really feel everything on the road; on the plus side the thing grips like cat on carpet...

Thanks lads. @eddy if you know how to read schematics, wamboin23 put a post up here that I used. I also added in an extra switch between the '30' terminal and DRLs for manual over-ride off switch. Another note is that the schematics has the 'on' at post '85' to headlights, however to be...

    Ramjet otr

I just installed the Ramjet on my VY the other day; as matqld said it was a little bit of a PITA to install, got there in the end. V8 daily driver

Both my cars are weekend drivers; had the VY SS since since March and average around 14.5L/100km. My other vehicle I've had for 8yrs, is an '88 FRP LandCruiser turbo-diesel, gets about 9L/100km. If I need to do a bit of 'generic' driving I'll take the 'Cruiser, but if the roads offer a bit...

took a few days to get around to getting the pics, but got there in the end. I had some old body filler laying around to fill in the blanks, but I don't think I prepped the surface very well for the 3M Carbonfibre vinyl to stick to very well, it's peeled away in those corners two days later...

What to upgrade in my system?

Thanks for the input HCVP. Well the door skins aren't really hard to remove, so I'll save my coin in the first instance and see what improvements the deadening does for the fronts. What to upgrade in my system?

Sorry, I guess I should've made that front stage aspect more prominent in my explanation of things; i.e. that first part of the "Swapsies" part. Yes I do think my front stage could do with some better (and louder) speakers, the current alpines are a too tinny for my liking, despite any...
