How to push the highest numbers on an NA 3.8L Ecotec

Depends what the Op wants to achieve, the na V6 isn't the easiest engine to get semi quick if his goal is to get a decent street car....

How to push the highest numbers on an NA 3.8L Ecotec

After all our testing on our dyno with our drag race Chevy, some of the petrols are prity good compared to e85... We tested between methanol an ETS (methanol is roughly 34%oxgenating) an come out better with the xps105 on peak hp. Outright oxygenating isn't everything in fuels... The good but...

How to push the highest numbers on an NA 3.8L Ecotec

Depends what petrol you use! Fuels like ETS xpd105 has alot of oxygenation in it so has the benifits if you choose the right petrols

How to push the highest numbers on an NA 3.8L Ecotec

Yea mine was on 98, but when I do mine again will be with e85 or a good race type unleaded. Start putting more comp into it an larger camshaft

How to push the highest numbers on an NA 3.8L Ecotec

Alot of work went into getting the engine setup how we wanted to operate in the higher rpm range with the stroker. Specially using the solid roller cam setup an valve train

How to push the highest numbers on an NA 3.8L Ecotec

Yes swapped transmissions to the early model trimatic auto... Had to use adaptor plate kit from Castlemaine rod shop. Was 295rwhp but stopped our running there as we ran out of injector size

How to push the highest numbers on an NA 3.8L Ecotec

Not hard to make this power if you know what your doing or the shop.... Mine was still driven alot, in daily duties in the middle of peak hour traffic. but when it go's back together will only do weekend work with track stuff

Would be nice to know, What Boost pressure they were thinking of When they mentioned "Flowed 650hp"..... There is NO way any V6 ecotech or buick factory cylinder head will flow those figures Naturally Asperated, even with the best cylinder head porterdoing there magic! But guess we'll never know...

    N/A power

As parts an different combos arn't as common as the LS/chevy or 5L based engines it will be alot of learning, but can use alot of there ideas in areas! Best to start with a plan an stick to it with the engine, don't mix an match different types of combos. Have seen alot of wierd stuff and even...

    N/A power

will be interesting to watch.... my v6 went 12.3 @108mph at the drags and that was at 1380kg's on BP ultimate fuel. Surprisingly it still cruised nice, did have a slight rough idle but nothing major to deal with. It can be fun doing something different, but does also have it's challenges
  30. J

    N/A power

yea would be awesome if it was legal with the stroker.... have heard of a ecotech up around 290-295 rwhp still at 3.8litres, how it drove i'm unshore. Got a base idea yet on how the engines going to be biult?
  31. J

    N/A power

I run a buick v6, but have gone 292rwhp (roughly215rwkw).... to make that Hp you wil have to fairly wild on the build, But been ecotech should be easier then the buicks i think! The 4.2l stroker made it alot more driveable an tamer in my engine with alot more low down an mid range torque. And...

60' and ET improvement with slicks?

Better do some more research more next, JEPistions will make a "true"flat top piston for you if given the basic measurements of what you need, as i looked into it early last year for my v6 stroker... Also if that camshaft grind is annoying an thirsty now, i'd really be looking at the tune or...
