what did you do to your car today?

Detailing the whole car. Washing in and around the calipers, the inside of the wheel, reviving all the trim, removing all the waterspots, pulled off some old tint that was all scratched, polished about half the car, polished the exhaust tip, polished some of the engine metal work, polishing out...

How do you treat a lady ?

Actually just had a massive bitchfight with the lady friend because she's been reclusive and distant which includes not ever wanting to "do anything" for 2 years. She's had a hard time with things but so have I from my mum dying to my grandfather basically DESTROYING my 21st by being a total...

what did you do to your car today?

Taken apart all my tail lights to fix them leaking. Thinking of casting a custom clear indicator lens for a cleaner look. Only thing stopping me is I'm hella lazy and can't be assed making any more custom parts at the moment. There was actually stuff GROWING in my lights, lots of stuff. I've...

    The Damage Thread

Action shot, I'm the little red MR2. Car was wasted That was after I kicked the doors back out, they were hard against the cage and it stretched the mount point for the door latch. Broke the steering column and bent a steering arm and rear arm. That black escort hooked me...

    Central locking unit.

The siren is an aftermarket looking one, with untreated self tapping screws that are rusting to hell put right into the front chassis rail. Strong work by someone there. Anyway I spent a while rewiring behind the dash and also found a bad fuse, looked good but I double checked and no...

    Central locking unit.

Alright so my alarm **** itself in a carpark and I landed up hotwiring my car siren blaring (till I ripped it out anyway) the other day. No one even bothered to see what I was doing which concerns me a bit but anyway. I got the alarm to work again it seems, messed with the reset switch and...

what did you do to your car today?

Got the smell out, just constantly using deodorisers and carpet cleaners has gotten rid of it even on hot summer days with the windows up. Word of advice to everyone, never leave shrimp in your car for a week then get it on your carpet. EVER.

what did you do to your car today?

Bolt multibox to floor = can remove sub box in about 10 seconds. $5 ultra lazy, super awesome solution to keep my boot space. The third pin operates the amp, so the amp doesn't turn on when the box is out. Even has a thermal cut out and everything lol

what did you do to your car today?

tried to get the smell out Week old shrimp that had rolled under the seat. Didn't notice, hit brakes, pot blew open sliding forward against seat, gagging and almost being sick ensued. Trying to get the smell out but damn is it tough, have gutted half the car out and can still smell it, horrible...

Begginner VP Commodore Owner Interior Help :)

That looks great, the black is way better than the grey I've been slowly adding to my interior I made, this was the other day when I was bored I made a thread somewhere if you look through my posts. It's another option, most people it's not really the route they want but I'm...

    VN strut tops

Pukekohe, I use the commie to tow the racecars. I'd make some if it was legal, just a solid set using wide/good side thrust rated rosejoint type things and a milling machine to make plates. Sure it would be harsh and solid but the car is already harsh. Plus the spherical joint tops look awesome...

    VN strut tops

Mmmmmk. Monday I'll go out and ask BNT cause they are having a sale on stuff and one was strut tops. These things are fracking expensive for what seems fairly simple.

    VN strut tops

Long time no post. Guess that's a good thing, anyway took my car for a warrant, heaps of electrical demons I overcame and it all seemed in tip top shape specially with the nolathane bushings etc. Fixed the usual boot rust on the frame and in the spare wheel area. Everything looked tops, you...

    vn v8 lsd oil

Bout 1.6 litres or so? That is roundabout what mine used when I filled it. Just used Nulon LSD oil. Can't overfill, it'll just pour out the hole again and it's not bad for it. Lots of diffs and gearboxes are filled this way. Someone correct me if I'm oh so wrong but really even a finger dip...

cops in pakenham. random defect test (RDT)

That is **** you should be fixing anyway. Ever had a full length exhuast hit your car after catching a road hole and tearing off? Cause I have. Headlights, duh. Battery also duh. Nothing like the smell of battery against the bonnet frying in acid and fuel while red hot, done that to. We've all...

Media's new plaything - Dog attacks

Funny story I can add. We used to have a german shepard trained attack dog. No bullshit trained dog, the kinda dog the police and such use. Anyway we acquired the dog on the way to be put down only a couple years old after it attacked a scumbag and tore him a new asshole breaking and entering...

    Suspension set up?

This is what I have. I'll add the best value for money if things are worn is a nolathane bushing kit and new ball joints. When I got mine the panard rod bushing was shot and a couple other little things like sway bar mounts. Fixed them up (like $40 worth if that) and it was a huge improvement...

what did you do to your car today?

Put 255s on the back, don't think the VN can take any more than that, it's absolutely out of clearance and the rims can't take any wider.

    Kids To Tired to Learn

Ok I'm about to post a long video, watch it. It resonates with a lot of what I think about education. Education as a whole is not as it should be, it's a very negative system that stifles creativity and alternative ways of thought. I used to be told rather than come up with my own strange...

Northern Territory Speed Derestriction Under Serious Threat!

People are dumb, if you kill yourself all alone in the middle of a highway then who really cares? You should not need to be TOLD "don't do 180 in your coon towing an old trailer with half seized axles" but people do, and I have no sympathy. The police often dick the numbers to.

How many Km's on your VN/VP?

270,000 and runs super smooth, maintenance is the key. People neglect older cars cause of their worth and cause they are lazy and it always ends bad. I change fluids religiously as well as fixing anything at all I feel is off and have minimal problems

    Bomb around sydney girls neck???

Find the guy who did it, strap bomb to his neck and then make him do minesweeping in a 3rd world country, collect fallen soldiers on the frontline or whatever and if he refuses blow his head off. Bet he'd wished he hadn't been such an asshat then

    Recovering VN interior

Well it's a red car and there was not a huge amount of choice on what I thought would look right. I'm pretty happy with it, have the seat back in now and reassembled the centre console I had apart as well as a general tidy. Very practical, already spilt things on it and just wiped up with a...

    Recovering VN interior

DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE:beer chug::smoking::gun2::dance::yeah::D:thumbsup::cool: ^Somewhat descriptive of how relieved I am to have it done, well sort of. Haven't bolted the driver seat back in the car but it's finished all the same. There was lots of sag in in this seat so I used closed cell...

    1989 vn mods cheap

Cost me $500-$1000 so far on what I consider essential maintenance and I'm considering a rebuilt steering rack before the one in it blows ass with near 300,000km on it. I'm pacing things, would be easy to blow another $500, just replace 10 $50 items like all the intake gaskets and rocker gaskets...

help finding the main vacuum hose

Main vacuum? If you mean to the MAP sensor then it's mounted on the rear firewall on the passenger side and you can T into that line for a reading. Any feed behind the throttle body will do though, there are a couple capped off nipples near the throttle body that you could use which would work...

    Car Drawings

If I could be bothered I'd go get my CAD drawings. I made a scale TRD supra once that was farging awesome, an SAE formula, a boat (kinda counts) and other stuff I'm sure. Made some stuff for games, projects etc Can take a drawing and make a model of it which is cool.

Victorian police officer gets car impounded for hooning and no rego

Didn't say how long the rego was out though. Thing is here at least if your rego is over and not on hold you have to backpay the expired period anyway so I get a rage going for a silly ticket that means nothing like "oh hey here is a ticket for road tax that you had to pay anyway but we'll just...

    Handbrake centre shaft

Beat the handbrake to hell enough that it stayed down and got through the weekend alright, fixed it today. The shaft was going past where is was meant to and the spring on the ratchet had come out but not sure if that is related but I welded a stop onto the shaft at the perfect height by...

    Fogging up!

Lots of things, I used to use glass science till I found that could leave scratches sometimes even if you followed instructions. So now I tend to use a soft cloth and a homemade polish normally used on perspex and gelcoat or if it's tough 0000 wool and the polish. It's hard work removing...

    Fogging up!

Clean it thoroughly with some real evil windscreen cleaner that can remove even waterspots, maybe even a very fine claybar and apply rain-X. Rain-x is like....magic, I swear. Use it on helmet visors and all sorts.
