    Clean the brake master cylinder

    Clean the brake master cylinder

Does anyone else find it hard to see the brake fluid level? How do I clean the cylinder so I can see the level ? ( I clean the outside of course ) And can anyone explain what exactly is that little round thing that bobs up and down when fluid is added? Is it a filter? Can I pull it out ? Sorry...

Do you ever replace wheel hubs based on kms

I can hear ( sometimes) the scrape of the brake pad hardware against the rotor, while I am driving ( and my head out the window ) It's not gouging it but it just scratches it.. So theres no way the hubs can be warped on both ? It does seem unlikely both are warped. yes, it's breaking smoothly

Do you ever replace wheel hubs based on kms

I did the brakes yesterday and for the second time in a row I'm left wondering what I am doing wrong - or if indeed the wheel hubs are warped. When I replace the rotors and put the brake callipers mounting plates back on. I then spin the wheel hub and the rotors do not spin straight in the...

Do you ever replace wheel hubs based on kms

I'm doing my brakes shortly on my VZ 186000 kms. ( rotors, pads, callipers recon) I've never had to touch the hubs. Was wondering if I should just do them and be done with it at the same time, if 186k is past expected life span? If so, what's a good brand of aftermarket or should I go to a...

Does the Timing Chain problem only affect certain models?

I have a 2005 190kw engine. Does that mean I have the better chains to begin with and if anyone knows, does that mean a lot less chance of chain failure? Has done 172000 so far but it's always in the back of my mind , scaring me.

[VE] VZ and VE Alloytec PCV Problem/Fix

just did my PCV mod. Was not blocked but restricted in one of the holes. Was dirtier than I expected at 172000 k with me doing regular full synthetic changes at or before 7500 interval since 60k ownership. I guess that first 60k is a blank though Glad I did it. Was very careful on the drill...

    Alloytec 190 Water Pump cost

My SV6 is in with Holden getting a new A/C compressor and dryer fitted . I used them because they were cheaper ( $1200 ) than the other place I got a quote ( $1400 ) While it's being done they ring me to tell me my water pump is leaking and ( with a very sad tone ) advise it will cost me $1100...

Dreaded Antenna ( quick fix )

I ended up doing the under guard removal of wire plug. So much happier with no aerial :) Yes I could replace it but then I would still have to listen to the damn thing go up when I am just using a USB flash source which is so dumb.

Dreaded Antenna ( quick fix )

Dreaded Antenna ( quick fix )

Hi all I have some experience with my old VT Commodre and replacing the motorized antenna, it was not an easy 20 minute job, especially when you have never done it before. Yes, I fixed it, it took best part of an afternoon. Now with my VZ it's happening again, the click click click is never...

    Oil consumtion on Alloytec?

Another oil change here, 7500kms since last. I lost 1.6 ltrs of oil. No oil leaks, no smoke. I'm still using Nulon because I bought a stack at once. I might buy Castrol when I see it half price and see how we go with that next time.
