Yeah if you can find a manual buy it regardless of model. Otherwise I would recommend the VX. The later the better, as holden ironed out many of the niggling problems along the way - making it a more trouble free thing. VX's seem to have less quality issues than the VT. Also a VX series II...

hmmm, you may be right foamy. I couldn't find anything on the RTA website about a temporary permit but I'll give them a ring & ask what the story is. On the website it just says to transfer rego you need proof of identity, and proof of a permanent NSW address. But yeah - i'll check it out.

Yeah my VX makes a little groaning noise just as you begin moving forward which I have been told is the ABS module kicking in. I've heard it on other ABS equipped cars as well so I guess its fairly normal.

Yep thats what I did. If you pull out each vent it then a lot easier to work on the little sliders that run left to right.

Yeah that does sound quite expensive. I'm 21 - full comprehensive on VX exec $860 with AAMI. But thats with no mods, and I guess state/postcode makes a big difference too.
