i think a possible cause of the break down of the seals is because it used to sit for about 4 weeks at a time as i used to work away so I'm thinking over time they dry out

its continually using oil from the start of the oil change, which is what makes me think its an internal engine problem and not a break down of the oil

Yeah a mate of mine has suggested that also

Hey, I have a VY S Ute 5sp man and it uses oil. Its been about 6300km since my last oil change and I've topped up with around 4.5L of oil. Every now and then i'll get a hit of smoke from the exhaust on start up also. Its had this problem for a few years but its steadily getting worse...

cheers man yeah lining the engine mounts up was the hardest i just made them really loose so i could attach the k frame to them then tightened everything up i used 5 or 6 jacks lol

hey the drivers headlight on my vx went out and wen i had a look the bulb was fine but the plug that connects to it has burn marks on it. Any ideas on wot mite have caused it and how to fix it? oh yeah and it only has standard 60/55w globes cheers

hey hey just decided to fix up the old vn and **** off the VY... top of the list for the vn is definately an engine rebuild but while im at it i mite as well through in a few upgrades. Just wana know wot i should b looking at upgrading any advice would be appreciated. I've also got the option...

my auto electrician told me that having a chip installed stops them from being able to find out what's wrong with the car through the computer. can anyone confirm this? :wave:
